So how have campers said theyve celebrated? The most popular response seemed to be Throw a party! How humbling it was for staff to tell them about the party waiting for them once they accept- ed Jesus Christ into their hearts! Our first group of directors for week one from June 15-21, Angie and Matt Colwell, told Junior 1 campers about Gods invitation to the party. They explained that God is awaiting their RSVP to His party. The Colwells also read the novel Heaven Is For Real to campers, which illustrated the reality of heaven through the eyes of a child. As for our Mini 1 and 2 campers, the fruits of the spirit and traditional holiday festivities were cele- brated such as Christmas and Easter, two pivotal celebrations in the birth and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Mini 2 directors Chris West and Blossie Castrilla invited campers at the end of the week to accept Jesus into their hearts. The campers posi- tively responded to the call and helped West and Castrilla narrate the story of Jesuslife with de- tailed imagery. In week 2, Junior 2 director Daren Barnett decid- ed to lead campers to the Word through the Trans- formers movie series. He challenged campers to decide by the end of the week whether they are Autobots or Decepticons and how God will work through their hearts to transform them. NEWS FROM WHERE FAITH AND FUN MEET

Celebrate Summer Camp at Judson Celebrate! It’s our theme for camp this summer. So how have campers said they’ve celebrated? The most popular response seemed to be “Throw a party!” How humbling it was for staff to tell them about the party waiting for them once they accept-ed Jesus Christ into their hearts! Our first group of directors for week one from June 15-21, Angie and Matt Colwell, told Junior 1 campers about God’s invitation to the party. They explained that God is awaiting their RSVP to His party. The Colwell’s also read the novel Heaven Is For Real to campers, which illustrated the reality of heaven through the eyes of a child. As for our Mini 1 and 2 campers, the fruits of the spirit and traditional holiday festivities were cele-brated such as Christmas and Easter, two pivotal celebrations in the birth and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Mini 2 directors Chris West and Blossie Castrilla invited campers at the end of the week to accept Jesus into their hearts. The campers posi-tively responded to the call and helped West and Castrilla narrate the story of Jesus’ life with de-tailed imagery. In week 2, Junior 2 director Daren Barnett decid-ed to lead campers to the Word through the Trans-formers movie series. He challenged campers to decide by the end of the week whether they are Autobots or Decepticons and how God will work through their hearts to transform them. Junior high directors Aaron and Vogue Bryant have been leading their campers with a pirate theme called “Shipwrecked”. They explained to campers that trials we go through when finding our faith ultimately lead us to forming our testimonies. For day campers, the theme of Where the Wild Things Are was introduced to campers. Even though summer camp has begun, it’s not too late to register for camp! Register to-day at www.campjudson.com or by calling 814 922-3834. Discounts are available for first time campers and for returning campers who invite friends to join them at camp.

Judson Night at the Ballpark

Erie Gives Scheduled for August 12

Each of the last three summers, the Erie Com-munity Foundation (ECF) has hosted a day of philan-thropy to benefit non-profits in the Greater Erie Area. Last year Erie Gives raised over $1.7 million dollars for non-profits in the Erie area from almost 5,000 individual donors in just a single day! This year, Erie Gives will be on Tuesday, August 12, from 8 am to 8 pm. Simply visit www.eriegives.org on that day between 8 am and 8 pm and make a donation to Camp Judson using your credit or debit card. Your gift will help us to receive a prorated portion of the matching funds provided by the ECF. We are designating all matching funds we receive for our Every Kid to Camp scholarship fund. Last year, Camp Judson received over $21,000 (including matching funds) as a result of Erie Gives. So tell your friends, and don’t forget to give to Camp Jud-son and your other favorite Erie area non-profits through the Erie Gives website on August 12 between 8 am and 8 pm.

Join us on Thursday, August 7 at Jerry Uht Park in Erie for Camp Judson Night with the Erie Sea-wolves! All 2014 summer campers receive free admission with a ticket voucher they will receive at the end of their week of summer camp. Families and friends (and churches!) can purchase tickets for $8 using the discount code “JUDSON” either online or at the box office. The Seawolves will make a $2 donation to Camp Judson for every ticket purchased using the discount code, so join us August 7 for some fun at the ballpark while supporting what God is doing at Judson!

Here are some ideas to guide you in praying for the min-istry of Camp Judson:

Praise God for 65 years of ministry here at Judson!

Praise God for his continued provision and protec-tion and pray that God would continue to provide for our every need.

Pray that God would fill each camp with campers and that God would work in the lives of our campers and staff this summer.

That God would continue to fill our calendar with re-treat groups and bless them during their time here.

That God would help us meet the $50K goal of our Every Kid to Camp scholarship campaign to help children and teenagers in financial need attend camp next summer.

That God would bring His vision for ministry through Camp Judson to fulfillment. (for more information visit www.campjudson.com)

For our board and Fletemeyer and Lee as we begin work on a master facility plan to serve the growth of the Camp Judson ministry.

That God would lay the groundwork for the upcom-ing capital campaign to fund the improvements laid out in the master facility plan ministry.

To join our e-mail prayer team, send a message to [email protected]. Thanks for praying!

Pray for Judson
