CONFESSION AND ABSOLUTION Pastor: Let us confess our sins to God, confident of His grace and forgiveness to all who are penitent. People: I confess to God Almighty, before the whole company of heaven and to you, my brothers and sisters, that I have sinned in thought, word, and deed by my fault,
5
by my own fault, by my own most grievous fault; wherefore I pray God Almighty to have mercy on me, forgive me all my sins, and bring me to everlasting life. Amen.
Pastor: The almighty and merciful Lord grant you pardon, forgiveness, and remission of all your sins. Almighty God in His mercy has given His Son to die for you and for His sake forgives you all your sins. PRAYER OF THE DAY Pastor: Let us pray. O God, our refuge and strength, the author of all godliness, hear the devout prayers of Your Church, especially in times of persecution, and grant that what we ask in faith we may obtain; through Jesus Christ, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. People: Amen.
EPISTLE Philippians 2:12–16 Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not only as in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure.
Do all things without grumbling or disputing, that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, holding fast to the word of life, so that in the day of Christ I may be proud that I did not run in vain or labor in vain.
Reader: This is the Word of the Lord. People: Thanks be to God.
WE SING TO THE LORD “10,000 Reasons” Chorus: Bless the Lord O my soul, O my soul.
7
Worship His holy name Sing like never before, O my soul. I'll worship Your holy name
The sun comes up it's a new day dawning It's time to sing Your song again Whatever may pass and whatever lies before me Let me be singing when the evening comes
Chorus
You're rich in love and You're slow to anger Your name is great and Your heart is kind For all Your goodness I will keep on singing Ten thousand reasons for my heart to find
Chorus
And on that day when my strength is failing The end draws near and my time has come Still my soul will sing Your praise unending Ten thousand years and then forevermore.

SERMON “The Joy of Responsibility” Text: Philippians 2:12–16
INTRODUCTION:
I. DISCIPLINE ONE: BY GOD’S GRACE, I WILL DO ______________________________________ .
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s
8
handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. (Ephesians 2:8-10).
Only conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or remain absent, I will hear of you that you are standing firm in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel (Philippians 1:27).
Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not only as in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling (Philippians 2:12).
II. DISCIPLINE TWO: BY GOD’S GRACE, I WILL _____________________________________ .
Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not only as in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure (Philippians 2:12-13).
III. DISCIPLINE TWO: BY GOD’S GRACE, I WILL ______________________________________
for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure. Do all things without grumbling or disputing, that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, holding fast to the word of life, so that in the day of Christ I may be proud that I did not run in vain or labor in vain (Philippians 2:13-16).

CONCLUSION:
APOSTLES CREED I believe in God, the Father Almighty,
maker of heaven and earth. And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried. He descended into hell. The third day He rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. From thence He will come to judge
the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy Christian Church, the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life T everlasting. Amen.
OFFERING During this time please continue to worship through giving.
PRAYER
10
LORD’S PRAYER Our Father who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth
as it is in heaven; give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen.
BENEDICTION
CLOSING SONG “Guide Me Ever Great Redeemer” Guide me ever great redeemer, Pilgrim through this barren land. I am weak, but You are mighty; Hold me with Your pow'rful hand. Bread of heaven, bread of heaven, Feed me now and evermore. Feed me now and evermore.
Open now the crystal fountain, Where the healing waters flow; Let the fire and cloudy pillar, Lead me all my journey through. Strong deliv'rer, strong deliv'rer, Shield me with your mighty arm. Shield me with your mighty arm.
