The Connecticut Association of Latinos in Higher Education (CALAHE) is a non-profit 501 (c) (3)organization devoted to promoting the participation of Latinos in different areas of postsecondary education in Connecticut. Charitablecontributions from sponsors and supporters of
the annual golf classic are used to support CALAHE’s annual scholarship program for college bound and currently enrolled students. Please join CALAHE, and other committee sponsors to help students receive financial assistance to attend college, by once again making this year’s tournament asuccessful event.
Christina Irizarry, CALAHE President
It is an honor to be the Honorary Chair of the John Soto CALAHE Scholars Golf Classic. As many of you know, John was the founding father of the CALAHE Golf Classic and a strong supporter of educational opportunities for all students. It is for this reason that
I joined CALAHE and John in their efforts to raise scholarship funds for Latino students in Connecticut. Many students do not participate in higher education due to the lack of financial support. Your participation in the John Soto CALAHE Scholars Golf Classic will make a huge difference in a student’s life. Over the years, with the help of committed sponsors like you, CALAHE has been able to award over 200 scholarships to deserving Latino students - 25 just last year! So I ask you to join us and other dedicated sponsors to help even more students by making this year’s tournament a greater success.Karl Krapek, Honorary Chairman
