The Jobs Our Moms and Dads Do By: Jack Carter

Page 3: The Jobs Our Parents Do

Our moms and dads all have different jobs that make them work different hours and go to different

places. I wanted to help you understand the different jobs that some moms and dads have. While

reading this book, think about what jobs your mom and dad have

and what they do while they are there! Have Fun!

Page 4: The Jobs Our Parents Do

Hi, my name is Johnny! My father is a fireman! He saves lives by putting

out fires! He’s my hero! When a person’s house is on fire, my dad is to the rescue with all the other

fireman. When they see their red fire truck coming, they know they will

soon be safe!

Page 5: The Jobs Our Parents Do

My dad and the fire department save many lives by putting out fires. They want all of us to know how to

be safe and never play with fire!

Hi, my name is Jamie! Mom is a teacher of my kindergarten class. She is very nice and all her students love her!

Page 7: The Jobs Our Parents Do

My favorite part of class is when she reads to us! She makes really good voices for the characters in the story! She always picks one of us to help her with the story, too!

Today she picked Victoria because she was raising her hand politely! We always need to be polite if we want the teacher

to pick us!

Hi, my name is Sarah, and my dad is a doctor! He helps sick people get better! He always

knows how to make us feel better!

He always has carries his doctor bag and his stethoscope. They both help him to make sick

people better!

He works in a big building called a Hospital with all the other doctors and nurses. They

all are there to make people better!

Sometimes he takes me with him. I get

to help him make the people better!

helps sick animals!

She helps all different kinds of animals. She even gets to help with the big zoo animals like lions, tigers, and bears! They are always happier after she helps them!

Hi, we’re Kristina and Devin! Our parents work together. Our mom is a Lawyer and our dad is a

Judge! Together they make sure we all follow the law,

and do the right thing!

Page 13: The Jobs Our Parents Do

A lawyer has to prove that the person she is working for didn’t do what they are in trouble for. A judge has to decide if whether to let

the person go or give them a punishment.

They both work very hard to make sure everyone is doing the right thing!

Hi, my name is Amy! My mom is a Fashion Designer! She designs clothes for models

to wear and she also designs the clothes for us to wear! She always lets me go to her fashion shows!

Page 15: The Jobs Our Parents Do

For my mom’s job she gets to visit pretty places and dress really pretty people in clothes that she makes on her own. Her clothes are really pretty!

Page 16: The Jobs Our Parents Do

The jobs that our moms and dads do are helpful to everyone! Whether they help us to get better or they make sure that we are following the rules in class, they all help make our lives better!

The End!!

Page 17: The Jobs Our Parents Do

Hi, my name is Jack Carter! I wrote this book to show children that any job that our parents have is beneficial and that they are all helpful. I hope that you enjoyed reading my book as much as I enjoyed writing it! I want to say thank you for reading my book! I think that children’s books are the most beneficial type of book that we can write, and I really hope that we can expand our

children’s library with new books and new ideas that will engage our children to keep

reading!
