• In March 2013, a Ministerial Decree has been announced with the approval of the implementation of Public Transport in Jeddah

• The Decree dedicated a total budget of 45 Billion Saudi Rial for the project

• The Decree has also established the delivery date of the complete public transport master plan as 7 years.

Key Advantages with the Ministerial Decree

• Made a permission to use non-standard government contract (FIDIC).

• Gives allowances to prequalify contractors to ensure specialized contractors

are equally competitive

• Bidding Technical package and Financial package separately. Opening of

financial package will be subject to the acceptance of the Technical

package.
