Jazz?

There wasn't really a single person who created jazz. There was actually many bands that played music similar to jazz. Some prominent figures during the creation of jazz include Scott Joplin (left) and William Krell. (right)

origin characterized by improv, syncopation (the loss of sounds from a word) and usually a

forceful rhythm.

4, 1901 and died July 6, 1971. His nick names were Satchmo or Pops, was an American jazz player in New

Orleans, Louisiana.He became famous in the 1920s as a

cornet and trumpet player, Armstrong's biggest influence on Jazz was changing group performances to more of a solo performance. "With his

instantly recognizable deep and distinctive gravelly voice, Armstrong

was also an influential singer, demonstrating great dexterity as an improviser, bending the lyrics and

melody of a song for expressive purposes. He was also greatly skilled

at scat singing (vocalizing using sounds and syllables instead of actual
