the internets next billion
DESCRIPTION
It took us 22 years to connect the first two billion to the Internet. It will only take five years to connect the next two billion and they will primarily come from emerging markets and mobile devices. When you combine this growth with the capabilities afforded by these new technologies it's easy to see how many become entranced with the perceived economic and social benefits of this trend, but is it all a bed of roses ? If we look beyond the hype what are some of the potential impacts this trend will have on the development of our global society ? What can you do to prepare yourself and others for a healthier and more vibrant connected future ? Presented at the European Youth Awards (http://www.eu-youthaward.org) in Graz, Austria, Nov 2013.TRANSCRIPT
