The International Consortium On Governmental Financial Management The Consortium is unique in the financial management community. It was established in 1977 by a distinguished and international group of financial management professionals from government and academia. They recognized the need for the various financial practitioners to engage in dialogue about their

perspectives for improving government financial management. ICGFM became the first “umbrella” organization composed of government

entities, improving financial management.

OUR MISSION “Working globally with governments, organizations, and

individuals, the International Consortium on Governmental Financial Management is dedicated

to improving financial management, so governments may better serve their citizens, by providing opportunities for professional

development and information exchange.”

We do this principally through our semi-annual conferences, monthly forums and the ICGFM Journal.

OUR PROGRAMS We support our members and others by promoting

and supporting professional development activities and information exchange that advance effective

governmental financial management principles, standards, and practices. We hold meetings, forums, and

conferences that bring together government financial managers from around the world to learn new and innovative approaches to

emerging public financial management challenges.
