Hostilities in the Visayas The command of the islands in

the Visayas was given to General Marcus P. Miller

December 28,1898- American Ships docked in Iloilo.

February 4,1899- outbreak of the war.

February 11,1899- General Miller received orders to commence assault on Iloilo.

February 14, 1899- the Americans got hold on Sta. Barbara

February,22 – Cebu surrendered to the Americans.

Treaty was signed. 1. US sovereignty over the

islands of Jolo shall be recognized while the Americans likewise recognize the rights and integrity of the sultan.
