EARLY MORNING DROP-OFF 2016

Getting to work on time in the mornings can be difficult when you have to beat the early morning

traffic. We would like to see if we can, to some extent, help alleviate the time pressure on you.

From Wednesday, 13 January 2016, our gates will be open from 06h00 until further notice. We are

introducing a very early drop-off class by opening our gates 30 minutes earlier than usual. This may

be for a limited time only and the school will review the cost/benefit of the initiative with a view to either

extending or cancelling same, at our sole and absolute discretion.

A Cooper College teacher will be on duty every morning from 06h00 and all students arriving before 06h30 must be dropped off on the Intermediate Phase side of the school at the office. The children will be looked after in the staff room until the normal arrival time, when they will be taken to their regular arrival points.

We would appreciate your feedback regarding the earlier morning drop-off proposal and whether any other convenience initiative would be of assistance to you. Please e-mail your thoughts to: [email protected]

ANNUAL ADVANCE FEE

Did you know that annual payments attract a 5% discount? Should you wish to pay the annual advance fee for 2016, please e-mail [email protected] for a quote. The annual advance fee must reflect in the Cooper College account by 30 November, 16h00, in order to receive the 5% discount.

Our school photographer, Nicole, took

the Cooper College website once we have

received them.

On Saturday, 24 October, a special ceremony was held at The Barnyard for our Grade 0’s who are graduating to Grade 1 in 2016. The students wowed us with stories and songs from around the world. Afterward they each received a scroll from Mrs Müller and Mrs Van Reenen. During the concert the parents were also treated to songs and dance numbers from the talented Cooper College Glee Club. The final highlight was a matter of tradition - the Teachers’ Dance - receiving a lot of fanfare and applause! Well done to our teachers for all their hard work in making this such a successful event. Thanks must also go to the Seedat family for sponsoring meals for the children.

Grade 7 Farewell

Compliments Cooper College is proud to mention that we recently received the following compliments:

Manager of the Spur during the Grade 7 Farewell lunch: Complimented us on having the most well behaved students they have had.

Manager at The Barnyard during the Grade 0 Graduation: Complimented us on being the most organised school that they have dealt with.

On Friday, 23 October, our Grade 7’s were treated to a trip to the Ice Rink and lunch at The Spur for their farewell party. They each received a t-shirt with a photo of their class group and participated in that old rite of passage of scribbling messages to each other. Goodbyes are always sad, especially when you’ve gotten to know these special students over many years. We wish those of them that are moving on to other schools a prosperous future and look forward to continue growing with those who are remaining at Cooper College. Good luck with those final exams!

Well done ladies!

Netball stars! Congratulations to the Cooper College netball team, comprising members of administrative and teaching staff, for winning GOLD in their recent final league game.
