Non Political…because we believe our core business should be about our members’ employment issues and nothing else.

and

Non-confrontational…because we believe it should be possible to negotiate sensible agreements through the power of argument, not industrial action.

In 1994, the Fire Officers’ Association was formed with the vision of providing representation for middle ranking officers of the Fire and Rescue Service through a non-political, non-confrontational organisation run by like-minded people.

Our Association:

Believes that all of our interests coincide with the present and future needs of the British Fire & Rescue Service.

Knows that the Nation’s well being and the safety of communities are linked to this profession and knows your career, family and future are dependent upon the same profession.

Speaks as one responsible voice which is recognised and respected in all forums that effect both your prospects and national Fire & Rescue Service issues.

Believes in being informative, democratic and non-political, has faith in our membership and whole-heartedly pursues their interests.
