It is about importance of imagination in Coleridge's work with reference to Biographia Literaria..Coleridge's imagination , that is, able to create rather than merely reassemble, by dissolving the fixatives and definite- the mental picture or images , received from the senses- and unifying them into a new whole. The mind which is distinguished from reason ,judgement and memory in that it receives images from the senses and recorders them into new combinations.

The treatment and subject matter should be, to quote Coleridge,

“ The sudden charm, which accidents of light and shade, whichmoon –light or sun-set diffused over a known and familiar landscape , appeared to representthe practicability of combining both. These are the poetry of nature.”

In this type poems , subjects were to be chosen from ordinary life; the characters and incidents were to be such, as will be found in every village and surrounding area,where there is a thoughtful and feeling mind to seek after them.
