The IKM Group 2013

Positive trend:• Our investment in inspection services has had a positive

impact in 2012. Turnover exceeded MNOK 100, i.e. up

more than 100% compared with 2011.

• IKM Valves AS has doubled its turnover over the year,

which ended up at around MNOK 200.

• There has also been a good trend in IKM Testing AS’

international focus, with increased turnover and earnings.

• I am also very pleased with IKM’s ability to make a

concerted effort. An increase in turnover of almost 20 per

cent is demanding for the organization. The employees’

willingness to accept challenges and find good solutions is

essential in order to manage such growth.

• The latest and most encouraging news is that our

absenteeism rate is steadily decreasing and looks like

ending up at around 3.5 per cent in 2012. In the oil and

gas sector of Norwegian industry our total absenteeism

rate was 3.9 per cent in the 3rd quarter 2012. This is the

best result ever and shows that our focus on the

employees’ welfare and working conditions has paid off

both for IKM and the industry as a whole.

Substantial finds will help maintain enthusiasm for

exploration, while persistently high oil prices will encourage

new developments and upgrading projects. In other words,

there is no lack of opportunities and IKM maintains good

headway into the New Year. This, together with a high

order backlog and major investments on the Norwegian

Continental Shelf will help ensure that 2013 is a good year

for IKM. It will be a challenging, but exciting year, with

possibilities that we must make the most of, which is what

we are good at!

2013 - Good prospects, global challenges

We have concluded a year defined by great optimism in

the Norwegian oil and gas sector - increased oil and gas

reserves were discovered, investments grew and activity

increased.

2012 was a year when IKM’s focus on growth paid off

with a new record turnover of BNOK 3.9. Profitability

was also up with EBITDA ending up at MNOK 465,

which is also a new record. Unfortunately, at the same

time, many parts of the global economy are in turmoil.

A weaker global economy and a persistent element of

geopolitical unrest make the market outlook for oil and

gas more uncertain. This means that we must work

more effectively and at the same stick with our ambition

that “even the most demanding customer will have IKM

as a preferred contractor”.

• Zero injuries is our overall objective.• We shall instil trust and confidence among our customers and employees.• We shall follow acts and regulations, including ethic code of conduct.• HSE is the most important internal work area.• No operation has priority over safety.• HSE is a line responsibility in the entire organisation.• Everyone is responsible for their own safety and the safety of others.• We shall prevent pollution and reduce negative environmental impact.• We shall reduce the amount of waste and optimise the use of resources.

We will achieve this through continuous improve-ment of all processes and systems established in each organisation.

Together with our clients and suppliers we shall follow statutory regulations and continually improve our procedures and routines in environmental management.

We believe that social commitment will result in savings for our clients, and new business possibilities for the IKM Group.

Each IKM company shall establish its own objectives in order to live up to the IKM Group’s overall policy.
