This is a result of the CRD raising the fees they charge us to dispose of the waste in the landfill (tipping fees) by 23% effective January 1, 2012.

Please keep in mind that we are the only garbage company that charges by the volume of waste removed rather than per visit. This is to promote recycling and allow our customers to reduce their total annual garbage

costs by being more diligent at ensuring the recycling is removed from the waste stream that ends up in the landfills.
