Merry Christmas! The birth of our Lord and Savior is here. Jesus Christ, the Son of God, has been born Mary. The excitement of the day of Christmas is one of the great blessings of our faith. The birth of Jesus is a call to joy, a call to rejoice, a call to give thanks for the generosity and abundance of God's blessing in our lives.
We are called to remember the Christmas season follows the day. Our society often forgets that the 12 days of Christmas begin after the birth of our Lord and continue until the great feast of Epiphany. The First Sunday after Christmas we celebrate the gift of the Holy Family. The icon of the holy family Jesus,
Mary and Joseph is a family portrait of God's love. The holy family is a reminder of our call to holiness within the family. When I look at the family portraits received in the cards at Christmas, the portraits of family lived within our community, and even the portrait of my own family we are reminded that in the family we experience the gifts of mercy and compas-sion and love.
The feast of the holy family reminds us, in responding to God's call, we are invited to live the fullness of our Christian vocation. It is an invitation to continue our celebration of love in the in the growing hopefulness of each family filled with love. God bless, Fr. Mark

"I will praise you, O Lord my God, with all my heart; I will glorify your name forever." Psalm 86:12
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Beginning in the New Year of 2016, St Lucy plans to use the 5th Sundays as opportunities for some of us to share our faith journey in a short 3-4 minute witness talk. There are 2 months with a 5th Sunday in 2016: January 31st, 2016 and May 29th, 2016. We need a speaker for each Mass for the 1/31/2016 weekend. You only need to speak at the Mass that you regularly attend. The talk needs only to be about your own faith experience. It could be about a moment that has brought you closer to God; it could be about a moment that allowed you to experience the presence or the grace of God; it could be a miracle that you have experienced. We understand Catholics don't usually do this but we would like to start a new tradition at St Lucy. We need your help to glorify His name. If you would like to be a witness to God's abundant mercy and love, then please email your name and the Mass you could speak at to [email protected]
Thank you for your courage and consideration. St Lucy Worship Group

¡Feliz Navidad!
