Dear Friends In Christ,
As a kid I never understood the song "The 12 Days of Christmas". Are there really 12 days of Christmas? The point of
the song is to underscore the fact that Christmas is a season that begins on December 25
th and concludes with the
celebration of the Baptism of the Lord which takes place on either the 1
st or 2
nd Sunday
of January, depending on what day of the week Christmas falls on. So, we are still in the Season of Christmas and we are still celebrating the glorious coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ, who, became like us in all things but sin, so that we might be saved from sin. As you can see, we have so much to celebrate! The year 2021 cannot come quickly enough as we anticipate being vaccinated against the Covid-19 novel coronavirus and seek a renewed stability and peace in our world. May Jesus, the Prince of Peace, continue to bless our Sacred Heart Parish family in the year ahead! Peace, Father Nordeman
The Parish Center will close at 12:00noon on New Year’s Eve

FEAST OF THE HOLY FAMILY DECEMBER 27, 2020 Entrance: JOY TO THE WORLD
Joy to the world! The Lord is come; let earth receive her King; Let ev’ry heart prepare him room,
and heav’n and nature sing, and heav’n and nature sing, and heav’n, and heav’n and nature sing. Joy to the world! The Savior reigns; let us our songs employ; While fields and floods, rocks, hills, and plains Repeat the sounding joy, repeat the sounding joy, repeat, repeat the sounding joy.
GLORY TO GOD: Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to people of good will. We praise you, we bless you, we adore you, we glorify you, we give you thanks for your great glory, Lord God, heavenly King, O God, almighty Father. Lord, Jesus Christ, only Begotten Son, Lord God, Lamb of God, Son of the Father, you take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us; you take away the sins of the world, receive our prayer; you are seated at the right hand of the Father, have mercy on us. For You alone are the Holy One, you alone are the Lord, you alone are the Most High, Jesus Christ, with the Holy Spirit, in the glory of God the Father. Amen.
PROFESSION OF FAITH: I believe in God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible. I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God, born of the Father before all ages. God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father, through whom all things were made. For us men and our salvation, He came down from heaven, and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary, and became man. For our sake, He was crucified under Pontius Pilate, He suffered death and was buried, and rose again on the third day in accordance with the scriptures. He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and His kingdom will have no end. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets. I believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church. I confess one baptism for the forgiveness of sins and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come again. Amen.
RESPONSORIAL PSALM: The Lord remembers his covenant forever.
COMMUNION: WHAT CHILD IS THIS
What child is this, who, laid to rest, on Mary’s lap is sleeping? Whom angels greet with anthems sweet, while shepherds watch are keeping?
This, this is Christ the King, whom shepherds guard and angels sing; Haste, haste to bring him laud, the babe, the son of Mary.
Why lies He in such mean estate where ox and ass are feeding? Good Christian, fear: for sinners here the silent Word is pleading.
So bring him incense, gold, and myrrh, come peasant, king, to own him; The King of kings salvation brings, let loving hearts enthrone him
PRESENTATION: O COME, LITTLE CHILDREN
O come, little children; come one and come all, O come to the manger in Bethlehem’s stall, And see what our Father in heaven above Has sent to us all on this earth with his love. His bed, little children, a manger with hay; His Mother and Joseph in ecstasy pray,
The shepherds in wonder their glad worship bring,
While chorus of angels sweet Glorias sing.
