Crossing the Threshold Aladdin uses the genie and wishes to be a prince so that he can impress the princess Jasmine. When he does this he associates with Jafar who is anything but thrilled to welcome the new prince.

Aladdin tries to impress Jasmine by being a new prince. She doesn’t know that he is the same boy from the marketplace, but she isn’t interested in conceited princes which is what Aladdin

becomes.
