A Firm Grip on RealityThe lineage of the Gryphon Atlantis isimmediately apparent in the concavecurved front that carefully positionsthe five drive units to create a directangled, time-aligned system withidentical distance from the acousticcenter of each driver to the listener.

The Atlantis enclosures incorporatemassive internal bracing and are filledwith a combination of natural and syn-thetic damping materials to create anideal, inert platform for the drivers andcrossover. Considerable care hasgone into the contouring of the baffleand driver surrounds to eliminate dif-fraction.

The substantial feet provide a rock-solid foundation that lends the Atlantissystem a firm grip on musical reality.

Exclusive Danish DriversThe cone drivers are customdesigned for low Q and minimaldynamic compression to our exactingspecifications by an internationallyrespected Danish driver manufactur-er. The tightly focused, ultra-lineartriple-magnet system of the dual 5”midrange drivers ensures total controlof cone motion. Specially developedsurrounds match the geometry of thedriver diaphragm and the fiberglasscone material is layer damped. Dustcaps are non-deformable, low-massand highly rigid.

The dual 8” bass units are speciallydeveloped to optimize bass qualityand quantity in the precision-tunedreflex chamber that allows the driversto achieve levels of bass extensionand power normally found only inmuch larger systems.

Ceramic High Frequency DriverThe Thiel Accuton high efficiency, fer-rofluid filled high frequency unit incor-porates a 30 mm low mass concavedome made from an ultra-hard ceram-ic material with outstanding acousticproperties and ideal pistonic motionwell above the audible frequencyband.

The drive unit’s extremely high inter-nal sound velocity ensures very lowdistortion and virtually no coloration.The low resonance frequency allowsa crossover frequency as low as 1.7kHz for seamless integration with theAtlantis system’s high performancecone drivers. With very high resolu-tion and excellent dispersion up to 32kHz, the ceramic driver’s high

frequency contribution ensures thatthe sparkle and vitality of the originalperformance is conveyed naturallyand realistically in your listening room.

Battery-Biased CrossoverAssembled from the finest high cur-rent, low-loss components carefullyselected for their sonic and electricalcharacteristics, the hand-adjustedAtlantis crossover network incorpo-rates the finest available foil capaci-tors and low distortion, low saturationinductors with negligible DC resist-ance.

The electrolytic capacitors in theimpedance correction circuit are pre-biased to maintain a constant chargein order to eliminate crossover distor-tion at zero electric potential, resultingin audibly enhanced stability and sub-stantial gains in body, timbral colorand image coherence. Operating thebattery-biased crossover in “Class A”mode ensures a smoother, more rich-ly detailed three-dimensional presen-tation.The crossover connects to a poweramplifier via custom designedGryphon screw terminals that ensurea tight and durable electrical contact.
