Hello everyone and welcome to my
Birthday Month - July! As the June
Gloom fades and it starts to transition to
hotter days, let’s all remember that
keeping ourselves well hydrated
becomes even more important. Our
bodies are constantly utilizing water
(even when we’re not on the Golf
Course) so we can put ourselves in
danger of severe hydration when we add 18 or even just 9
holes of Golf. A good rule to follow is to make sure we
are drinking at least 64 oz of water (H2O) daily and to pay
close attention to how are bodies are reacting to the heat.
If you feel like something is wrong, there probably is.
Until next month I wish you all health & happiness (and
wear that sunscreen!).
At your service,
Chris Montoya.
ATTENTION: I will be away
from the barber shop starting
July 18 & returning July 31st.,
During this time Jazmine will
be available so please contact
her for your Barber Services.

Happy Fourth of July,
As we celebrate our Independence Day we have much to be thankful for. Thank you to
Michael Jack for 14 years as our Director of Golf. Congratulations on your next position as Director
of Golf at Rancho Santa Fe Golf Club.
Now that summer is here in full come and enjoy your Club and take advantage of all the
offerings. Congratulations to our repeat Club Champion Cliff Sutrisno. The Golf Fest was great fun
as usual. A big thanks to the Tournament Committee’ and our Pro Shop for putting on an
outstanding event. Our next big tournament is Billy Bell – a fun member – guest event that features
five – nine hole matches over two days. If you didn’t get in this year – sign up early for next year.
Our next wine dinner is coming Friday, July 19 featuring Hahn Family Wines. Again, sign
up early as these very popular dinners fill up quickly. Also remember if you are hungry for breakfast
Tuesday or Wednesday morning – Maria does a great job at the Half-Way House.
On Monday, July 29, SHCC will host the PGA Metro Chapter golf event. 36 holes of
competition by outstanding area Pros. Come on out to gallery. The Club is closed for services but
open for spectating. Defending Champion is our own Head Golf Professional Kyle Mendoza.
See you at the Club!

Summer is here in Southern California and South Hills is ready with a full calendar
of activities, events, and happenings. The recent events at your Club have been a huge
successes. Upcoming, we have a wine dinner with Hahn scheduled in July and let’s not
forget the SHCC Swim and Dive team competing against rival clubs throughout the San
Gabriel Valley. The season will be capped off with the Finals scheduled for the last week
in July hosted by Friendly Hills CC. Kyle Mendoza continues to facilitate the Junior Golf
Clinics leading the way developing the future members of South Hills. Tim Pawley has
the tennis courts busier than ever with the Junior Tennis Camp, individual and group lesson
clinics.
The Search Committee is busy vetting potential candidates to replace Michael Jack
as he moves on to Rancho Santa Fe. Congratulations Mike, you will be missed.
Our recent Social Associate, Young Executive and Regular Equity Membership
promotions have been extremely successful in the last two months with new members
joining the South Hills Family. I encourage you to introduce yourself to new members
here at the Club and if you know someone who might be interested in joining the Club to
let us know. With generous incentives for both the new member and referring member,
there is no time like now to begin enjoying the South Hills Country Club Lifestyle.
In an effort to streamline our billing process, the Club has transmitted
to paperless billing statements. Please contact the Business Office at
626-339-1231 if you wish to continue to have paper statements mailed.
Thank you.
Please remember...
