Michael K. Shaffer, a Civil War historian, author, newspaper columnist, instructor, and frequent lecturer remains a member of the Society of Civil War Historians, Historians of the Civil War Western Theater, and Georgia Association of Historians. He also serves as a Civil War consultant for the River Line Historic Area. Shaffer holds BA and MA degrees, with honors, in Military History, and currently teaches Civil War courses at Kennesaw State University's College of Continuing and Professional Education.
