I Peter 4:7-107) The end of all things is near. Therefore be clear minded and self-controlled so that you can pray.8) Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.9) Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling.10) Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.

I. The Gift of Discernment

The Gift of Discernment is the supernatural ability to tell whether a prophetic speech came from God’s Spirit or from another source opposed to God.

“True prosperity is measured not by what you take out of the Book (Bible) and how you use what you’ve received to benefit mankind. It’s having wealth, health, and the wisdom to do as God commands”

I. The Gift of DiscernmentI John 2:22

Who is the liar? It is the man who denies that Jesus is the Christ. Such a man is the antichrist — he denies the Father and the Son.

13) Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show it by his good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom.14) But if you harbour bitter envy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast about it or deny the truth.15) Such “wisdom” does not come down from heaven but is earthly, unspiritual, of the devil.

I. The Gift of DiscernmentJames 3:13-18

16) For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice.17) But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere.18) Peacemakers who sow in peace raise a harvest ofrighteousness.

13) For such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen, masquerading as apostles of Christ.14) And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light.15) It is not surprising, then, if his servants masquerade as servants of righteousness. Their end will be what their actions deserve.

Dear children, this is the last hour; and as you have heard that the antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists havecome. This is how we know it is the last hour.

For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform signs and miracles to deceive the elect — if that were possible.

And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonderplace; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.

In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.

18) Against all hope, Abraham in hope believed and so became the father of many nations, just as it had been said to him, “So shall your offspring be.”19) Without weakening in his faith, he faced the fact that his body was as good as dead — since he was about a hundred years old — and that Sarah’s womb was also dead.
