No. 49/iP(PiV)68.—In the Public Notice No. 22/IP(PN)/67, dated the 16th May 1967 it was stated:

"Import of other gauges of stainless steel sheets,plates, strips and circles including 21/25 gauge,will also be allowed. Imports will, however, becanalised through MMTC and a separate PublicNotice will be issued laying down the procedurtregarding import and distribution."

Arrangements have since been made to import, onethousand tonnes of stainless steel sheets throughMMTC. As stocks of this steel will arrive only in1968-69, the distribution policy will be announced inthe light of the circumstances then prevailing.
