Gandhidham – Kutch Mail:
Greetings from GCCI! Holi The Festival of Colours is an ancient Hindu festival which is not only celebrated
in India but has also become popular with non-Hindus in many parts of South Asia, as
well as among people of other communities outside Asia. Hope everyone has enjoyed
this festival.
I on behalf of Kandla complex mercantile community congratulate KPT Chairman and
his entire team for achieve 105 MMT cargo on Financial Year 2016-17.
Despite demonetisation, GDP growth stays at 7% as per the data released by the
Government. Manufacturing PMI rises to 50.7. Cash crunch failed to squeeze factory
output of February, 2017.
Peak GST rate to be pegged higher at 40%. This gives flexibility to the Government to
raise rates without having to reach out to the parliament. Despite keeping of peak rate,
multi-slab structure of 5%, 12%, 18% and 28% of rates will remain to start with.
Export fraternity has welcomed the idea of E-Wallet which is workable as it would make
life easier for the exporters for tax refund which would seamlessly be transferred to their
accounts electronically provided that the same should form an integral part of the GST
network.
KASEZ celebrated its foundation day on 7th March recording growth in export in
inspite of sluggish international market.
Export recorded impressive growth by 17.5% in the month of February, 2017. With the
drag from export weakness now behind us, policy makers can better manage the growth
and productivity dynamics going forward.
Happy Reading.
