(Deu 32:35) To me belongeth vengeance, and recompence; their foot shall slide in due time: for the day of
their calamity is at hand, and the things that shall come upon them make
haste.
(Isa 13:6) Howl ye; for the day of the LORD is at hand; it shall come as a destruction from the Almighty.
(Isa 13:13) Therefore I will shake the heavens, and the earth shall remove out of her place, in the wrath of the
LORD of hosts, and in the day of his fierce anger.
(Isa 30:25) And there shall be upon every high mountain, and upon every
high hill, rivers and streams of waters in the day of the great slaughter, when
the towers fall.
(Jer 16:19) O LORD, my strength, and my fortress, and my refuge in the day of affliction, the Gentiles shall come unto thee from the ends of the earth…
(Eze 7:19) They shall cast their silver in the streets, and their gold shall be removed: their silver and their gold
shall not be able to deliver them in the day of the wrath of the LORD…
(Rev 14:14-20) And I looked, and behold a white cloud, and upon the cloud one sat like unto the Son of man, having on his head a golden crown, and in his hand a
sharp sickle. And another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to him that sat on the
cloud, Thrust in thy sickle, and reap: for the time is come for thee to reap; for the harvest of the earth is
ripe. And he that sat on the cloud thrust in his sickle on the earth; and the earth was reaped. And another angel
came out of the temple which is in heaven, he also having a sharp sickle. And another angel came out from
the altar, which had power over fire; and cried with a loud cry to him that had the sharp sickle, saying, Thrust in thy sharp sickle, and gather the clusters of the vine of
the earth; for her grapes are fully ripe. And the angel thrust in his sickle into the earth, and gathered the vine of the earth, and cast it into the great winepress of the wrath of God. And the winepress was trodden without the city, and blood came out of the winepress, even
unto the horse bridles, by the space of a thousand and six hundred furlongs.
NOTES
What we find here in this passage is the clear teaching that there will be 2 stages to his 2nd coming.
These stages are seen in the 2 harvests that are described
The 1st is a harvest of grain that will be stored in the barn. (Post Trib. Rapture)
The 2nd is a harvest of grapes that will be stomped in wrath (Battle of Armageddon)
(Deu 32:31-35) For their rock is not as our Rock, even our enemies
themselves being judges. For their vine is of the vine of Sodom, and of the fields of Gomorrah: their grapes are grapes of gall, their clusters are bitter: Their wine is the poison of
dragons, and the cruel venom of asps. Is not this laid up in store with me,
and sealed up among my treasures? To me belongeth vengeance, and
recompence; their foot shall slide in due time: for the day of their calamity
is at hand, and the things that shall come upon them make haste.
(Rev 14:14) And I looked, and behold a white cloud,
and upon the cloud one sat like unto the Son of man,
having on his head a golden crown, and in his hand a
sharp sickle.
(Psa 8:4-8) What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of
man, that thou visitest him? For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with
glory and honour. Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet: All sheep and oxen,
yea, and the beasts of the field; The fowl of the air, and the fish of the
sea, and whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas.
(Dan 7:13) I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of
man came with the clouds of heaven,
and came to the Ancient of days, and
they brought him near before him.
(Rev 14:14) And I looked, and behold a white cloud, and upon the cloud one sat like unto the Son of man,
having on his head a golden crown, and in his hand a
sharp sickle.
(Mat 24:30) And then shall appear the sign of
the Son of man in heaven: and then shall
all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they
shall see the Son of man coming in the
clouds of heaven with power and great
glory.
(Mat 26:64) Jesus saith unto him, Thou
hast said: nevertheless I say
unto you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.
(Act 1:9-11) And when he had spoken these things, while they
beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their
sight. And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven?
this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye
have seen him go into heaven.
(Psa 104:3) Who layeth the beams of his chambers in the
waters: who maketh the clouds his chariot: who
walketh upon the wings of the wind:
(Psa 97:2) Clouds and darkness are round about
him: righteousness and judgment are the habitation of
his throne.
Psalms
(Isa 19:1) The burden of Egypt. Behold, the LORD
rideth upon a swift cloud, and shall come
into Egypt: and the idols of Egypt shall be moved at
his presence, and the heart of Egypt shall melt
in the midst of it.
Prophets
(Eze 10:3-4) Now the cherubims stood on the right side of the house, when the man went in; and the cloud
filled the inner court. Then the glory of the
LORD went up from the cherub, and stood over the threshold of the house; and the house was filled with the cloud, and the court
was full of the brightness of the LORD'S glory.
(2Ch 5:13-14) It came even to pass, as the trumpeters and singers were
as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the
LORD; and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals
and instruments of musick, and praised the LORD, saying, For he is
good; for his mercy endureth for ever: that then the house was filled
with a cloud, even the house of the LORD; So that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud: for the glory of the LORD
had filled the house of God.
