COURSE AIMS Why learn FP1?

Immediate loading on full and partial arches is something that many implant dentists want to learn. There are many good courses out there that teach this, but most teach the approach where a fixed denture is made by removing bone on the ridge rather than preserving the hard and soft tissue. Many dentists are uncomfortable with this approach as it goes against their natural instinct to preserve and augment bone and soft tissue rather than remove it.

This course will aim to show that there is another approach to fill arch prosthetics- one where hard and soft tissue are persevered and the patient has a bridge that does not look like a fixed denture.

The many steps involved, which include diagnosis, treatment planning, digital smile design, guided surgery, guided bone regeneration, soft tissue manipulation, intra oral welding, provisional prosthetic design, and final prosthetic design that allow deliver of an all white prosthesis. Both digital and analogue workflows will be discussed.

WHAT WE WILL TEACH OVER THE 2 DAYS

The FP1 approach to full arch implant dentistry involves multiple steps that when looked at can appear daunting, but as part of a planning, surgical and prosthetic workflow each step can looked at, broken down and then added to the workflow.

We will use a combination of lectures and hands-on workshops to show the important steps and stages in this workflow that will allow you to implement this in practice.

The steps and techniques learnt can also be applied to all aspects of your implant dentistry as well as some aspects of your larger smile design cases.

We look forward to seeing you in London for an exciting 2 days with a busy lecture and hands on program. When the course is over you are in the heart of one of the world greatest cities.

TREATMENT PLANNING This is the most important aspect of delivering this treatment and we will keep the focus on treatment planning throughout the 2 days

DIGITAL SMILE DESIGN Facially driven planning is an important part of this process and we will show you how to plan your patients final restorations and then utilise this planning in the next phases of treatment

PLANNING FOR GUIDED SURGERY We will provide you with a laptop and train you to use simplant in order to plan your implant and prosthetics

GUIDED SURGERY We will have a hands on guided surgery practical where you get to use a guided surgery kit and understand how this applies to the concept

SOFT TISSUE There will be a hands on soft tissue session showing the techniques needed for achieving optimal soft tissue aesthetics

IMMEDIATE LOADING The theoretical and practical knowledge needed to implement immediate loading will be taught

WELDONE We will show you how to weld a frame intra orally and explain the benefits of this approach

PROVISIONAL RESTORATION DESIGN Design of the shape and contour of your provisional restorations is key to achieving the results. This will be shown and we will have a hands on practical

FINAL RESTORATION RESTORATION DESIGN The design and materials used for the final restoration will be discussed and shown.

PAULO CARVALHO

Paulo is a Dental surgeon based in Oporto University, Portugal (FMDUP). He teaches private courses in Implantology and Oral Rehabilitation, is the main coordinator of Implant Prosthetics Clinical Residency at Foramen Dental Education and is often a guest speaker at various national and international conferences.

MARTIN WANENDEYA

Martin Graduated from the University of Bristol in 1995.

Since 2004 he has been a partner at Ten Dental, an interdisciplinary specialist referral practice in Clapham, south London where his work is limited to implant and aesthetic Dentistry.

He is a tutor on the diploma in implant dentistry program at the Royal College of Surgeons, England, having been awarded the diploma at advanced level.

He has a special interest on digital implant dentistry and digital smile design and has lectured internationally on all aspects of implant dentistry.

In his spare time he enjoys time with his family, art, music and photography, and skiing.

NIK SISODIA

Nik Sisodia has been an implant mentor and trainer to dentists at all levels, from GDP to registered specialists, for many years. He lectures worldwide on implant and restorative dentistry. Nik is an associate clinical teacher at the University of Warwick.  He is respected as an opinion leader in implant dentistry in the UK and is a Module Leader for the Advanced Diploma in Dental Implantology at the Royal College of Surgeons, England.  

Nik is in private practice in London.   He is a past president of the British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and a Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantology.   He is a Member of the Association of Dental Implantology, Scientific Chairman of the British Academy of Aesthetic Dentistry and serves on the editorial review board of the International Journal of Cosmetic Dentistry.
