DATES TO REMEMBERFri 3 July Last day of Term 2 Tues 21 July Term 3 starts – Students return
Mon 20 July Staff Development Day
Principal’s Report
Changes from Today 15 June 2020
The Department of Education released new guidelines for all schools last Friday and we
are extremely happy to be able to embrace more normality. As a result of the updated
health advice and relaxed restrictions, schools are able to recommence the majority of
school-based activities from either 15 June 2020 or the start of Term 3 (20 July 2020).
From Monday 15 June:
Choirs and Performing Arts within the school setting may return.
Music Tutors may return.
Incursions are possible using external providers as long as they are closely linked
to curriculum.
Day field trips to DoE outdoor education venures, eg; Gibberagong environmental
centre.
Some community use activities (eg; Karate, community languages) – as long as
strict health guidelines are met.
School Assemblies – Limited to 15 minutes.
School Photos.
From Term 3, schools can resume the following:
All school sport and activities including competitions as long as these meet current
health advice – non-contact.
Inter-school events and competitions.
SRE/SEE voluteers
Work experience students/ Practicum Teachers.
P&C meetings – with a strong preference for on-line where possible.
Parent/teacher meetings – where these need to take place – with a strong
preference for on-line where possible unless involving serious matters that require
face to face.
Community use activities involving general adult attendance – eg: Jazzercise.
At this point in time we have not been given approval for school camps, excursions,
larger assemblies with parent involvement, parent volunteers in classrooms or larger
community events.
Principal’s Report
With the return of these activities, it is important not to become complacent. All
activities on school sites must occur in line with existing infection control procedures
and the additional health, safety and distancing requirements outlined in the AHPPC
Guidelines or in NSW Health advice, particularly as they relate to adults. Non-
essential visitors are still not allowed on site or at events – this includes
parents/carers. We will therefore continue our current student only entry into school in
the morning and staggered K-1 parent pick up only in the afternoon, unil further
notice.
Reports
Student reports for Semester One, 2020, are currently being written by teachers. We
have taken a great deal of time to ensure they demonstrate your child/ren’s learning
during this very difficult COVID-19 period. The reports are a modified version of our
regular reporting format and will be given to students in the last week of term. The
NSW Department of Education have given NSW schools until the end of August,
however we would like to start Semester 2 in full swing and have teachers able to
fully focus on the learning and engagement in classrooms. Once you have received
your report we welcome any requests for interviews with your child’s classroom
teacher early in Term 3.
Opportunity Class 2021 – Applications close 26 June 2020.

thinking about their solo performance piece!
● Strings camp is on hold at the present time and will depend completely on easing of
restrictions with sufficient notice to organize activities.
Looking for on-going assistance:
I’m looking for someone to look after the Strings instrument rental program (currently
14 instruments). Essentially it is acting as liaison between Sydney Strings and the
Parents who are renting mostly via email. No experience required and no requirement
