WALKING ON YOUR STILTS
WORKSITE INSPECTIONPerform a jobsite inspection to be sure it is free of any trip hazards including extension cords, spilled liquids, or general debris. Your worksite should not have any open stairwells, vents, or windows that would present a fall or trip hazard.
SAFE STILT USEUsers are encouraged to attend a training class on the safe use of stilts.
MOUNTING AND DISMOUNTA.)Dismount and mount your stilts with the help of a
colleague using a work platform with suitable height and surface area.
B.) Do not attempt to jump off the stilts to the ground.
C.) Select a platform of adequate size and capacity to mount your stilts.
D.) With the help of a colleague strap on your stilts.
E.) Stand with your stilts and adjust your balance.
F.) Use short deliberate steps while your are practicing walking and working on these stilts.
REACHING AND WALKING PRECAUTIONTake short steps to keep your stilts well balanced beneath your legs. Never over-extend your reach or steps with your feet or arms when wearing stilts.

Inspect your stilts prior to every use. Check for worn or ®damaged parts and replace with genuine SUR-STILT parts.
Tighten but do not overtighten any loose nuts, wing bolts, or screws.

Check your stilts for wear and damage. Check and tighten all nuts and bolts.
Cover any openings such as windows, stairwells or vents.
Do not over-extend your step or your reach while working and walking on stilts.
Lubricate your stilts with silicone or graphite based lubricants.
Clean with water. Dry stilts and floor plates after cleaning.
Load limit is 225 lbs. including working tools.
GENERAL PRECAUTION
ASSEMBLY
1) Assemble side pole clamps. Insert lower side poles through the bottom of the tube clamps.
2) Attach lower side poles to the safety-lock bracket connection with the attached ¼” x 1 ½" cap screw & nylon lock nut.
3) Install upper side poles through the side pole clamps. Position so the leg bands comfortably fit above your leg calf.
4) Position the side pole clamps in the clamp bracket slots, according to your calf height and position. Tighten all nuts and bolts on side pole and clamp assemblies.
5) Attach the heel brackets to the foot plates using the No. 10 x ½” philips machine screws and nuts. Adjust the heel bracket so your foot fits comfortably on the nylon foot plate. Tighten well.

STRAP ADJUSTMENT
LUBRICATION
Keep all pivot points and adjustment joints clean and lubricated. Lubricate lightly when necessary with a silicone or graphite based lubricants. Use water only for clean-up of stilts. Keep floor plates clean and free of lubricants or any debris which could cause slippage.
MAINTENANCE
Contact your dealer or customer service for parts. ®Always use genuine SUR-STILT parts to repair or
replace worn or damaged parts.
GENERAL REPAIR AND REPLACEMENT PARTS
To access nylon sleeves, disassemble the upper foot plate. Remove the small sleeves from the extension tubes. The large sleeves can now be removed and replaced.
REPLACEMENT OF NYLON SLEEVES
1. Remove screws and washers.
2. Feed the ends of both straps through the Safety
Anchor Slot System™.
3. Tighten screw and washer assembly.
STRAP ADJUSTMENT
HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT
1. Remove wingbolts.
2. Raise each stilt to the necessary height.
3. Install each wingbolt through the leg extrusions.
4. Tighten the wingbolt and fully engaging the nut.
SPRING TENSION ADJUSTMENT
1.Increase tension on upper spring if you lean too far forward.
2.Increase tension on lower spring if you lean too far backward.
