General Advise from Savants and Saints Perform one’s regular adhkâr (invocations) and awrâd (litanies) every day without fail and pray as many

prayers in congregation with one’s spouse.

Read Al-Qur’ân and the Dala’il al-Khayrat as much as possible. At the very least, have the audio of your favourite Qari (reciter) playing loud enough for the baby in the womb to listen to.

Recite abundantly ṣalawât ‘ala-n Nabi (salutations on the Prophet ). Special emphasis on Ṣalât ‘Aisha, Ṣalât Al-Tunjînâ and “As-salâmu ‘alaikum ayyuha-n Nabî wa raḥmatu-Llâhi wa barakâtuhu”.

When too tired to actively engage in ‘ibâda (worship), look at pictures of the blessed Ka’ba, other holy sites and sacred relics, and visit the Awliya – those who are treading above the earth and resting beneath.

Avoid listening to ḥarâm music and watching obscene television programmes.

Supplication during Pregnancy by the Spiritual Pole of the Age, Al-Habib ‘Abdu-l Qadir al-Saqqaf

O Allah, bless our liege-lord Muhammad and the family of our liege-lord Muhammad. O Allah, protect my baby for as long as it is in my

womb, remove from it all ailments, along with the nation of Your Prophet and Messenger, our liege-lord Muhammad, Allah bless him and

his family, and give them peace. You are the Source of all Healing; there is no cure but from You; [so bestow] a cure that is quick and

leaves no illness behind. O Allah, mould the baby in my womb with a beautiful form and make firm his heart to faith in You and Your

Messenger, Allah bless him and his family, and give them peace.

O Allah, make my baby’s birth at the appointed time of delivery in ease and safe – in both domains. And accept our supplications just as

You accepted the supplications of Your Prophet and Messenger, our liege-lord Muhammad, Allah bless him and his family, and give them

peace. O Allah, protect this child You brought forth from the world of darkness to the world of Light, make him righteous, accomplished,

intelligent and gentle. O Allah, make the child a witness [to Your Oneness], blessed [with Your bounties], learned [in beneficial

knowledge], and a guardian of Your precious Words and preserved Book.

O Allah, lengthen the child’s years, strengthen the child’s body, and make the child skilled in recitation of the Qur’an. O Allah, make the

child patient during times of sickness, illnesses, and thirst by the blessing of our liege-lord Muhammad, Allah bless him and his family,

and give them peace, and [by the blessing of] all the Prophets, Messengers, and the Arch Angels. Verily Allah and His angels whelm in

blessings the prophet. O you who believe invoke blessings upon him and give him greetings of Peace. In the end our claim is that all praise be to

Allah, the Lord of the Worlds. Amin!
