Imagine you are Lila and you have just had the conversation about ‘finding a husband’.
Think about how you would feel if you were Lila. Do you think Lila wants to get
married? Put your ideas in thought bubbles around the picture of Lila. Practise acting
as Lila and then perform your ideas to Mum and Dad as Lila.
2.Guided Reading Task (Chapter Two) Please answer the questions in full sentences

3.Writing Task – To write Diary Entry for Lila
I’ve added some power point slides to help you organise and plan a
diary account for Lila on her journey. Read through them, discuss
your ideas with Mum / Dad. Use the activity sheets and planning
sheets to help you get your ideas and plan in place before you try
writing your first two instalments of Lila’s journey from Chapter 1
and 2.
Read Hamlet’s Diary (below) and see how many features of a
dairy you can find. You might like to use highlighters to show all
the different features, or label them with different colours.
To help you imagine being Lila have a go at this drama activity.
Put yourself in the Hot Seat and ask Mum/Dad to ask you
questions about how you (as Lila) have felt about the things that
have happened to you so far in the story.
Now you should be ready to plan your diary account. Choose one
of the planning sheets from below and plan your diary account as
if you were Lila.
Once you are happy with your plan for the first two chapter
write your diary account out as a draft – remember to leave a
space between your lines so you can review and edit once you’ve
completed your draft.
Remember to use the checklist to make sure your diary account
includes all the key features of a diary.
I’m really looking forward to reading your diary accounts or you
could send me a video of you reading your diary.
Good Luck and enjoy!
