NEW ATTITUDES FOR THE

NEW YEAR

They must teach my people the

difference between the holy and the

ordinary, and show them the difference

between clean and unclean".

Ezekiel 44:23 (CEB)

It is not great mystery that today we

live in a pagan society and a secular.

Because pagan ideas, philosophy and

attitudes abound we must exercise

diligence that we don't allow them to

influence or affect us as Christians.

I want to challenge you to some

attitudes that will make a difference in

your life for the coming New Year.

Elevate FallsCreek from a social club

to a sacred communion.

By that I mean let not our attitude

toward FallsCreek by one of casual

interest and haphazard involvement.

Honor God's building. Treat God's

building with respect, keep it clean,

don't track dirt into the building, don't

scratch woodwork and walls, don't let

your children run wild in the building;

and flush the toilet!!!

Elevate the Bible from a decoration on

the shelf to a decoration of self. Bring

your Bible to church. Open it during

the messages. Read it during the week.

Take advantage of the Bible reading

schedule that I have presented to the

church. Hosea said, "My people are

destroyed for a lack of knowledge."

Have a new attitude

about your Bible in

2015; respect it and

read it.

Elevate your service

from casual hobby to a holy calling.

"Walk worth of the vocation wherewith

you are called." Ephesians 4:1

Is your personal service to God a casual

thing? Are you prepared for your

ministry? Are you on time or habitually

late. Do you pray for your ministry? Let's

be serious about our service to God!

Elevate our services from performances

for spectators to encounters with the

living God.

We need an awareness of the presence of

the living God in our services.

We have been so entertained by media

today that we come to church expecting

to view a performance as a spectator.

Come to church with a seeking spirit not

a critical spirit.

We need to come to church seeking and

wanting to encounter the living God.

Elevate your purpose from personal

entertainment to spiritual achievement.

Let's commit ourselves to achieving

something for God and FallsCreek in

2015!

May God give you a blessed New Year!

Believer’s Baptism is a symbol of our relation-ship with Christ. It is a picture of the burial of the old man being resurrected to new life; a public testimony that the believer is being raised to walking in the newness of life.

Chick-Fil-A comes to FallsCreek

Chick-Fil-A marketing director, Cheryl Wear,

from the Howe Ave. store presented their

menu to the FallsCreek Staff and custodial

team. A delicious meal was provided featuring

items off the Chick-Fil-A menu.

Men’s Night

And the winner

is… Dan Lenc!

This year FallsCreek donated 72 boxes to

Operation Christmas Child. We were blessed by

the help of two groups of people. Ytha and Steve

Chaney donated boxes that were filled and only

needed the postage added. Heart to Heart did

the shopping and filled boxes for those who

wanted to donate but were not able to shop. It

was a wonderful example of working together

for the cause of Christ. Because of the busy time

of year we are thinking of doing “Christmas in

July” . This would allow us to fill our boxes and

save them until collection time in November.

One way or another, plan to participate in this

wonderful ministry next year.

ELEVATE– Just for the fun of it!

Dana P. Handschumacher changed his address from his

earthly to his heavenly home on December 10, 2014. Dana was 93

years old and had spent the last 5 years at Briarwood Nursing

Care on Englewood Dr. in Stow. Before that time he was a faithful

member of FallsCreek Community Church, where he had attended

for 25 years. He was also a member of Front-Runners. Please

pray that God will comfort his family in their time of loss.

…that John Underwood made s’mores at this year’s Trunk

or Treat and it was a great success...that Mrs.Thomas

really got into her role during the “Meatball Murder” Dinner

Theater when she said, “Listen here BOZO” to Alex Peters,

who was pulled on stage...that some our ladies were ministering to others during the holiday

season...that Thanksgiving Baskets were given to 9 families...that cookies were baked and

women from Renny’s class and some teens went caroling and took them to some of our shut–

ins...that Shary White and Karen Needham took their talents on the road after Christmas and

helped remodel Shary’s aunt’s kitchen in Florida...that FallsCreek had a special giving family

that donated all of our turkeys and other foods to make our Thanksgiving giving time possible

…that Galatians 6:10 says: “Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people,

especially to those who belong to the family of believers.”...that Rosie and Dave Hupp enjoyed

a vacation at Myrtle Beach…that Debara Collins’ best friend Rose came from Pennsylvania to

attend the Meatball Murder Mystery Dinner …that Mickey Knight went to South Carolina for an

early Christmas with Afton and Avery and then they surprised her with a last-minute trip to

Ohio to celebrate the holidays (Ginga didn’t complain to have that extra time) …that Debara

Collins, Linda Reynolds, Shary White and Karen Needham were very cold on their Christmas

outing, but still had a good time …that during LaVon’s Focus on Women’s Christmas Party, a

most interesting version of The 12 Days of Christmas could be heard …that Alex Peters has

become the newest member of FrontRunners after his retirement on January 1st.

...Did you know these things? I thought you should! Donna A. Peters, Editor
