The face of a child in a lake,
Has no reflection - the face in itself,
Being swept calmly down the stream,
Above clouds are wandering.
In a distant window the gaze of his mother,Has no reflection - the gaze in itself,
She awaits, and he does not arrive,
Clouds wander with much tranquility.
The things we tried to sing and say,
Not a reflection - the thing in itself.
Transliteration
Pa-nim shel ye-led ba’-a-gam,
Lo mish-tak-fim ha-pa-nim atz-mam,
Ni-gra-fim ba-ze-rem be-hi-luch i-ti,
Le-ma-la a-na-nim sha-tim.
Be-cha-lon ra-chok ma-bat i-mo,Lo mish-ta-kef ha-ma-bat atz-mo,
Hi me-cha-ka, ve-hu lo ba,
A-na-nim sha-tim be-shal-va ra-ba.
Dva-rim she-ni-si-nu la-shir ve-lo-mar,
Lo hish-ta-kfut - rak ha-da-var.
