UAEDSA: The History • Started with few families and
professionals in Dubai Ladies Club as DSSG (Down Syndrome Support Group)
• Announced as the 1st and formal NGO for people with DS in 2006
• Today we have 561 members families • Main committees are: educational,
medical, counseling, sport, financial and employment
• Considered as benchmarking NGO in the region
• Won regional awards • Multi million Dirhams projects
Challenges and issues related to their training, and preparedness to enter the work
• The ‘employability’ issue and the social Stigma
• The notion of adopting the right-based
approach when preparing people with Down Syndrome for work

When the energy meets the particles or molecules in the medium, they cause the molecules to move, or
vibrate.
The wave moves through the medium but the particles stay in
place. The particles bounce around or move up and then down
and return to the same place they were before they started
vibrating.
Only energy moves…not the particles or
matter!
When you see the “wave” at a football game; the wave moves around the stadium; but the people stay in their
