Embodiment of the love of all the buddhas,Avalokitevara,

  • Inseparable from whom was the divine Khyentse, wisdom and love,

Remain in the centre of my heart, upon the lotus ofdevotion,

Without ever parting, and grant your blessings, Ipray!

So that the deceased may find relief from the citiesof the six realms,

  • And reach the level of Great Bliss and liberation,

I shall set out the supreme practice of the ExcellentPath to Perfect Liberation

May Padmapi, the Holder of the Lotus, grant hisblessing!

  • For this, first perform the practice of DukngalRangdrol ordinarily, reciting the mantra andpraise. Then, establish the six sages and the six seedsyllables in the mandala, and arrange substancesfor purification, six tormas for the karmic debts ofthe six realms, an ablution vase, and empowermentmaterials. They should all be well laid out. Thename card of the deceased and substances todedicate as food, should also be arranged, withnothing missing.

Then, out of a state of loving kindness, recite thefollowing:

  • hrih, daknyi tukj chenp kur salwHr. I appear clearly in the form ofthe Great Compassionate One.

tukk hrih l zer rab trpIn my heart is the syllable Hr,from which there emanate rays oflight,
