EU Common Strategic Framework
General Regulation 2014-2020 ProgrammesConsistent approach across the following funds:
• European Regional Development Fund (ERDF)• European Social Fund (ESF)• European Agricultural Fund for Rural
Development (EAFRD)• European Maritime & Fisheries Fund (EMFF)
![Page 14: The European Funding Programmes in Wales 2014-2020: Cross-cutting themes](https://reader034.vdocuments.mx/reader034/viewer/2022042714/5539ab164a79593a698b4a53/html5/thumbnails/14.jpg)
Why are they in the EuropeanProgrammes?
• Two ways to answer this question:
HAVE to be -
SHOULD be –
![Page 15: The European Funding Programmes in Wales 2014-2020: Cross-cutting themes](https://reader034.vdocuments.mx/reader034/viewer/2022042714/5539ab164a79593a698b4a53/html5/thumbnails/15.jpg)
Why the CCTs HAVE to be there:• The General Regulations governing the European
Programmes stipulate that all projects funded through the Common Strategic Framework, must integrate Equal Opportunities and Gender Mainstreaming (Article 7) and Sustainable Development (Article 8).
• In addition the horizontal principle Tackling Poverty and Social Inclusion has been included as a Welsh CCT
• UK and Welsh Legislation, policies and standards
![Page 16: The European Funding Programmes in Wales 2014-2020: Cross-cutting themes](https://reader034.vdocuments.mx/reader034/viewer/2022042714/5539ab164a79593a698b4a53/html5/thumbnails/16.jpg)
Why the CCTs SHOULD be there:
• Add value• Raise awareness
• Ensure maximum participation and mitigate adverse impacts
![Page 17: The European Funding Programmes in Wales 2014-2020: Cross-cutting themes](https://reader034.vdocuments.mx/reader034/viewer/2022042714/5539ab164a79593a698b4a53/html5/thumbnails/17.jpg)
Why the CCTs SHOULD be there:Move beyond compliance - support good practice
![Page 18: The European Funding Programmes in Wales 2014-2020: Cross-cutting themes](https://reader034.vdocuments.mx/reader034/viewer/2022042714/5539ab164a79593a698b4a53/html5/thumbnails/18.jpg)
