KOCH s circular silo and bunkerinstallations incorporate activationsystems suited to the specifictask and afford a maximum offlexibility for storage capacitiesin the range of 10˚m3 to 1,000˚m3

The optimum material handlingsystem can only be achieved bythe use of specifically designedmaterial activation and dischargesystems. Using know-how basedon experience acquired in thedesign and construction of facil-ities of this kind, KOCH focuseson the use of the following sys-tems:
First In - First Out
KOCH s discharging systemsguarantee an optimum materialflow, from top to bottom. Thesystem design largely eliminatesproblems associated with coreflow and material segregation.The "first in - first out" principleis ensured by the activation anddischarge of the entire silo bottomarea.
Metered Extraction
KOCH s extraction screwconveyors are commonlydesigned with flights increasingin pitch. They are installed overthe entire length and width of thesilo or bunker opening, whetherthe discharge position is at theends or mid-point of theconveyors. Metering is achievedusing hydraulic or electric motordrives with fixed or variablespeeds dependent upon theindividual requirements of theapplication.
High Energy Efficiency
A feature of KOCH s dischargingand conveying systems is anespecially low energyrequirement. This gives ourinstallations a leading edge overa large number of competitivesystems.
