2. Introduction
Technology is becoming a bigger and bigger part of the world today.
These effects are also being filtered down into the realm of education.
This is important to us as students because we are directly related with the integration of technology into the educational experience.
3. Overview
The use of technology in the classroom is a new educational learning experience nationwide
Gain experience with computers, smart boards, Internet, and PowerPoint.
Can communicate with classmates and teachers and retrieve more information faster.
Have more motivation and self esteem while using technology.
4. Why is the use of Technology Important and Effective?
Technology use allows many more students to be actively thinking
information, making choices, and execution skills than is typical in teacher-led lessons.
What are the effects of technology on students and in the classrooms?
Changes in student and teacher roles
Increased motivation and self esteem
Accomplishment of more complex tasks
More collaboration with peers
Increased use of outside resources
Improved technical and design skills
5. Change in Student and Teacher Roles
Students:
In an active role of recipient of information transmitted by a teacher, textbook, or broadcast.
Actively makes choices about how to generate, obtain, manipulate, or display information.
Teachers:
Plays a facilitator role - sets goals; provides guidelines and resources.
6. TechnologyEnhances High-Order Skills
Students can produce higher-quality graphs:
Computer handles the physical production of the graph.
Students focus on the conceptual link between the spreadsheet data and the visual representation.
7. Objective
Our objective was to survey our fellow classmates and see if there were any effects with the integration of technology into classrooms based on different variables.
For example: GPA, if technology leads to a better student, have computers given more resources for learning, WebCT made learning more efficient, and makes communication with professors easier
8. Research Questions
Question 1:
Is using technology in the classroom important?
Question 2:
Does age have an impact on students using computers as a resource?
Question 3:
Does technology make learning experiences easier?
Question 4:
Does the use of computers in high school result in a higher GPA in college?
Question 5:
Do students who went to a public school feel that it is more important to use technology?
9. Target Audience/Method of Data Collection
Target Audience
Wilkes University students of all ages and majors.
Data Collection

20. Reporting
Relevant Findings:
Using technology in the classroom is important
Age does effect the use of computers as a resource.
Technology makes learning experiences easier.
Using computers in high school, does result in a higher GPA in college.
Public school students feel it is more important to use technology.
21. Reporting cont.
Impact of our findings:
Technology provides for a better learning experience and for a more educated student. The integration of technology, when done correctly, can have major benefits in the world of education.
Suggestions:
Now that we have found out the technology does play a role in education, we would want to ask more specialized questions describing the correct ways to implement technology to use it to its highest potential.
