Early Help is the support that can be provided for a child, young person or family who may have additional needs that cannot be met by universal provision and there is perceived to be no risk of significant harm. We know there are wide range of services across the county that provides help to families at this early stage however more needs to be done to bring those services together. Agencies that we anticipate working with would include: midwives, police, health visitors, early years professionals, GPs, schools, children centres, voluntary sector and youth workers but this is not an exhaustive list. The team can support through a variety of help such as one-to-one meetings, group work with a team, training and advice and guidance. Early Help is vitally important and we are looking to address the barriers and obstacles that prevent practitioners from completing Early Help Assessments. The team will support practitioners to complete an Early Help Assessment and Action Plan with confidence.
