Club Manager Step up and helpEach month we get a little bit closer to June

and the installation of new officers. Please think about stepping into an officer position and help guide the Lynnwood Aerie 2888 into the future. Every trustee would take a minute to share any information that you’re interested in, as far as the open trustee positions.

The trustees are taking steps to get all of the needed information to have a card lock put in at the club. This is a process and something that will take some time, but it’s a project that’s on top of the list for the safety of our volunteers. Also on the list is the repaving of the parking lot. We really wish that we had a bit larger nest egg, but will do our best to get everything that’s feasible done.

If you have the opportunity, re-new your membership on a trip to the club. This will get you on the early bird list as well as saving the club money due to the need to not have to purchase as many stamps.

There’s a new dice game that’s available, thanks to the thought process of Les Straw. This dice game is for charity and a different for a different one each month just ask a bartender and they’ll explain the game.

Thanks to Steve M & Arnold for taking the time to move some of the plaques around inside

the club. Thanks to Kathy and all of the volunteers that

work feverishly to keep the wheels turning at the Lynnwood Eagles.

Huge congratulations to Fred Fillbrook. Fred is Mr. Eagle for 2017, this award is well earned. Thanks for all that you do Fred.

The Trustees want to thank the Ladies Auxiliary for the very tasty tacos that are served on Tuesdays. Dave Stering, ChairmanDon DavesSteve MellingerLes StrawRussell Pyles

Here we goAre you ready to

step up and help this Aerie forward into 2017-2018. Think about it as nominations for officers are coming up at the meeting on April 20.

The re w i l l be several positions open and we need members to step up and help.

Think about it. It is your Aerie and without leadership, we will need to look at having the president appoint brothers to the positions to prevent the Grand Aerie stepping in.

The Grand Aerie is offering a prize of $1,000 in per capita taxes credit to the Aerie that has the highest percentage of dues paid by May the 5. Since May 5 is also the last day to get your early bird, think about it and pay it early.

I am looking forward to sending your card out early.Bob NelsonSecretary

Get involvedI would like to remind the members of Eagles

#2888 that we have a chaplain for your needs. Good well wishes to Linda Horvath as she recovers from her illness and hope for return to health as soon as possible.

I would like to direct you to the words of the Eagles Initiation Ceremony and Obligation to which you all attested to as part of your initiation ceremony. If you have forgotten what these words are, I would like to invite you to read it as it applies to a member whether it is your first year as a member or your 20th year.

I encourage you to all try to find something for which you can volunteer to do. This club runs only with volunteers. There is a position for everyone. A very few individuals are doing the repair and

I would like to invite some of you who regularly attend Thursday evenings to consider adding Monday Bingo Night to you schedules. The more people, the larger the winning payouts. Children and teens can come in and also have fun. A parent or relative must accompany them. We are usually done at 8 or 8:30, so the evening is not too late.

Our large winners these past few weeks have been Aldis, Les, Jody and Kathleen.

Bring your favorite dish to share for the potluck dinner each week except on the fourth Monday, when we provide the meal with volunteers providing dessert. It starts at 6:30, play nine games at $1 each and two more games at $2 each. Two games have the possibility of $250 winnings.Vicki EamesBingo Chair

Let the trustees know of your skills and what you would like to help with. We are a brotherhood and all should be working to keep the club moving forward.

Campout time againHere’s hoping that you all survived the drinking

of the “green beer” and corn beef and cabbage. There was plenty at our house. Now that spring has finally arrived, sure hope that the rain will stop coming down. We need some dry fields for the Easter Bunny to leave all its eggs for all the little kiddies to find. Here’s wishing you all a very Happy Easter.

It has come at last. Our first campout of the year. It was at Pioneer Trails in Anacortes. Our Wagonmasters were Tom and Denise Robertson. What a great time we had. I will be reporting on all the fun we had in the next publication. So stay tuned.

Many thanks to all our members who stepped up to host an outing. It makes the work of our camp coordinator, Topsy, much easier.

Quick call the fire department. We have lots of birthdays to celebrate and all the candles are

making a really big flame. Just joking. Ha ha. Now, who is celebrating another milestone this month? Dave J, Dale G, Dee S, Sandy T, Everett A and Ginny H. Happy birthday to you all. We have two really sweet couples celebrating another year of wedded bliss. Stan & Pat A and their daughter and son in law, Dawn & Scott S. Happy anniversary.

Boy those bugs have been staying away from our members this month. It’s a good thing that we have our “Special Rays of Sunshine” to chase them away. Dixie you have been doing an excellent job with the Rays of Sunshine. Should you know of any of our members being under the weather, please contact Dixie. She will make sure that our Rays of Sunshine head their way.

We had our first monthly meeting on March 9. Lots was discussed and glad to see so many there. If you were unable to attend, you missed some interesting things including all the good of the order. We hope that you will join us for our April meeting on April 14 starting at 7 p.m. We will be

discussing the May outing hosted by Ron G, Dana H and Bob T. They will be having something very special for all us mothers since that outing falls on Mothers’ Day weekend. This outing will be at the Cedars in Ferndale.

Reminder: If you haven’t paid your dues, please submit them to Wayne Stevens. They are $10 per member.

Our club is always looking for new members. We are a fun group who like to get together once a month, March through October for our monthly campouts. We love to play cards (all kinds), swap stories, see what’s in the vicinity and just enjoy each other’s company.

We meet the second Thursday of each month except December, January and February. Our meetings are at the Lynnwood Elks Lodge starting at 7pm. The only requirement is that you like to have fun and be a member of either the Elks or Eagles. Come on down and check us out. We’d love to meet you. Stay safe on the highways and byways of RV’ing.

Grab the mic and you’re the star! Karaoke every Thursdays at 7:30 p.m.

Lynnwood Eagles #2888 Auxiliary Secretary Midge Tallman with her father Preston Scheid on his 99th birthday.

Lynnwood Eagles Auxiliary Secretary Midge Tallman was one of the speakers at the grand opening of Bothell American Legion #127 Post’s new headquarters building on Saturday, March 4.

Her father, Preston Scheid, an American Legion member for 65 years, was on hand to celebrate his 99th birthday.

The Bothell American Legion sold the land and building of its former location on Bothell Way and is now located at 21910 Hwy. SE outside of Woodinville.

More than one reason to celebrate• Cure urinary tract infections with Al ka-

Seltzer: Dissolve two tablets in a glass of water and drink it at the onset of the symptoms. Al ka-Seltzer begins eliminating urinary tract infections almost instantly, even though the product was never advertised for this use.

• Honey remedy for skin blemishes: Cover the blemish with a dab of honey and place a Band-Aid over it. Honey kills the bacteria, keeps the skin sterile and speeds healing. Works overnight.

• Listerine therapy for toenail fungus: Get rid of unsightly toenail fungus by soaking your toes in Listerine Mouthwash. The powerful antiseptic leaves your toenails looking healthy again.

• Easy eyeglass protection: Prevent the screws in eyeglasses from loosening, by applying a small drop of Maybelline Crystal Clear Nail Polish to the threads of the screws before tightening them.

• Cleaning liquid that doubles as bug killer: If menacing bees, wasps, hornets, or yellow jackets get in your home try a spray of Formula 409.. Insects drop to the ground instantly.

• Smart splinter remover: Pour a drop of Elmer’s Glue over the splinter, let dry and peel the dried glue off the skin. The splinter sticks to the glue.

• Hunt’s Tomato Paste boil cure: Cover the boil with Hunt’s Tomato Paste as a compress. The acids from the tomatoes soothe the pain and bring the boil to a head.

• Balm for broken blisters: To disinfect a broken blister, dab on a few drops of Listerine, a powerful antiseptic.

• Vinegar heals bruises: Soak a cotton ball in white vinegar and apply it to the bruise for 1 hour. The vinegar reduces the blueness and speeds up the healing process.

• Quaker Oats for fast pain relief: Mix 2 cups of Quaker Oats and 1 cup of water in a bowl and warm in the microwave for 1 minute, cool slightly and apply the mixture to your hands for soothing relief from arthritis pain.
