Savitribai Phule Birth Anniversary was celebrated in Ashoka Business School by remembering
her and her works in the field of education. Manisha Bhamre, Director Incharge of Ashoka
Business School spoke on Savitribai Phule, the first female teacher of India, who was also an
Indian social reformer, educationalist, and poet from Maharashtra. Prof. Bhamre highlighted on
how Savitribai played an important role in improving women's rights in India during British rule.
She informed that Phule along with her husband founded the first girl's school in Pune, which was
run by Indians .She worked to abolish the discrimination and unfair treatment of people based on
caste and gender.
Dr. D.M. Gujarathi spoke about how Savitribaiis regarded as an important figure of the social
reform movement in Maharashtra.A philanthropist and an educationist, Phule was also a prolific
Marathi writer was the view expressed by Dr. Vikas Gaundare.

The stage 4 of this competition was conducted at Ashoka Business School where top 25 students
from Junior and Senior section each presented their ideas through models, projects or
performances. Every contestant has selected one sector out of six-Art, Science, Technology,
Education, Business and Management. The judges from outside i.e. not from AEF evaluated the
performances/presentations of these contestants and top 5 from each section were sent to the final
round.

In order to equip students with the necessary skills to approach placement season, the training and
placement cell at Ashoka Business School conducted Grooming sessions for the final year MBA
students. Workshops on Advanced Resume Writing and Interview Techniques were conducted by
in-house Training and Placement Coordinator, Mr. Nainesh Mutha. These sessions would prove
fruitful for the students to face interviews.

Swami Vivekananda's thought-provoking lectures, quotes and writings, have been a subject of
study and a great source of motivation for the youth. On his 155th birth Anniversary, ABS saluted
the indomitable energy and enthusiasm of all the youth, the builders of tomorrow’s India by inviting Mr. Yogesh Panchakshari,C.A to share anecdotes and thoughts of Swamiji. Mr.
Panchakshari regaled the audience with stories of Swamiji’s early life. He spoke about his spirituality and love for meditation. He told how Swamijiwas a voracious reader and used to read
a wide range of subjects, including philosophy, religion, history, social science, art and literature.
He was also interested in the Hindu scriptures. Swami Vivekananda was an all-rounder. Apart
from being good in studies, he was also trained in Indian classical music and was a good
sportsperson too.
Director Incharge of Ashoka Business School, Prof. Manisha Bhamre welcomed and introduced
the guest. Students listened with rapt attention and were amazed on knowing the great personality
that Swamiji was. The lecture saw the presence of all the faculties and staff of ABS. Dr. D.M.
Gujarathi,Director,HE,Ashoka Education Foundation lended his strong support as always to malke
this event successful.

Ashoka Business School celebrated its annual cultural fest Indradhanushya 2019- “PANACHE- A
Stylish Beginning” on Saturday 19th of January at Ashoka Universal School campus, Wadala.
More than 300 students (present + Alumni) and their parent attended the event. Students spell
magic on stage as they put up performances from retro to fusion, folk Lavni to modern Disco,
Bollywood to Hollywood. Audience members got on their feet not just to groove, but also to give
a standing ovation. Such was the air electric and full of energy event of Ashoka Business School.
Excellence, sports and academic awards were also given by the dignitaries, to appreciate their
efforts and motivate them to give their best in all they do in future.

Ashoka Business School successfully organised two days state level workshop on “Writing and Teaching Cases” on 24th

January, 2019.The workshop got a very good response from
entire Maharashtra. More than 120 participants attended the workshop including research scholars,
educators and students across Maharashtra.
Chief Guest for the inaugural session was Dr. K. R. Shimpi, former principal of BYK Commerce
College Nashik. He elaborated on modern teaching pedagogy practiced by eminent Business
Schools and mentioned the importance of case study teaching method. The feedback of
participants is very good about the workshop, participants requested to organise more such kind of
workshops in future.
All faculty members of ABS worked hard to make this workshop successful under the guidance of
Dr. D.M. Gujrathi and Prof. Manisha Bhamre.

Sub Centre, Nasik. The Program saw the presence of Prof. Dr.Dinesh Naik, Prof. Vijay Sonawane,
Prof. Dr. Rajashree Kapure and students of various colleges. There was also an interactive session
which was taken by Prof. Dr. Rajashree Kapure who is the Assistant Professor at H.P.T. ARTS &
R.Y.K. SCIENCE COLLEGE. They discussed the problems faced by women now a days and the
achievements of women in the present age.

National Student Research Conference (NSRC)
On 11th
January 2019 a National Student Research Conference (NSRC) was arranged at Symbiosis
Institute of operations Management. The conference was for discussing the recent
developments in Operations Management and how it could help to resolve many organizational
issues related to the same. The students of Ashoka Business School Mr. Suneet S. Khare and Ms.
Jagruti Dharmadhikari (MBA 2nd Year) participated and presented in the conference. The topics

On 11th
Jan 2019 Leadership 360 A Business Leadership Program by Dr. Vivek Bindra,
motivational speaker, Business Coach was held at hotel Express Inn, Nashik. Mr. Sandeep
Somavanshi founder of Broadvision Marketing Solutions (BVMS) approached various marketing
Institutes for volunteers and students who worked diligently got an opportunity to attain this
whole day session free. Miss Sumedha S. Deokar and Miss Vidhi H. Thakkar(Student of MBA 1st
year) from Ashoka Business School got selected for this session.
The session was for the whole day from 10am to 8.30pm. Around 200 entrepreneurs attended

` The Ashoka Business School under the banner of AISC a wing dedicated to crafting future
entrepreneurs participated in the 6th mega MSME camp on 11th Jan 2019 hosted by NIMA. The
objective of the two day camp was to bridge the gap between the financial institutions and the
MSME .One of the main focus of the camp was on STAND UP INDIA and WOMEN
entrepreneurs’. Various bank representatives and government agencies like DIC, GST EXPORT,
and EPFO gave a brief of the various incentives and schemes available to aspiring and current
entrepreneurs’. The students gained insight to the various requirements for acquiring loans and the
opportunities available to them.

Participation in The “Nashik Run- 2019” Event
The “Nashik Run” was initiated by the select set of corporate houses to help the needy and
underprivileged and to promote the awareness of health and fitness in and around the city of Nashik.
Nashik Run was born out of a desire to serve the underpriviledged in and around Nashik & to spread the
message of healthy living among the Nashikites. The 17th edition of Nashik Run organised by Nashik Run
Charitable Trust was held on 12th Jan, 2019 with the aim of promoting quality education and support to
sportsperson in the Nashik district. According to it's President Mr. Banerjee ,this trust supports and aids
those talented sportspersons who can win medals at the National/International level. Four students from
Ashoka Business School ran for these noble cause. From MBA-I Aditya Gosavi, Gauri pawar, Pranav Devare
and Dnyanal Dhande ran a distance of 4.5kms represented of ABS.
