INDUSTRY TIP OF THE DAYHow to discharge waste oil trolleys correctlyMost modern workshops own mobile waste oil trolleys. The common practice for emptying these is to attach an air supply to the unit and force evacuates the trolley with air pressure. The problems associated with this are the following:

• If the ball valve is not shut, the operator is showered with waste oil/coolant.• If there’s too much air pressure, the unit may explode.• If the discharge is unsupervised, the hose may come loose & drain the fl oor.

We have some simple and clean solutions for the handling of waste oil trolleys. These installations are:1). An air operated suction pump (this can be a piston pump or a diaphragm pump). The diaphragm pump is highly recommended due to a much higher fl ow rate or 2). A quick connect coupler eliminates the hose detaching from the waste oil tank.
