Summary
Breaks down all the food and drinks we eat.
Mixes digestive juices with the food and it goes through a digestive track.
Bigger molecules breaks into smaller molecules before it they are absorbed by blood.
Eventually, they’ll leave the body by the anus.
Mouth
It receives the food your eating
It uses saliva to break it up.
Liver
It is the largest gland in your body.
One of its many functions is storage.
Stomach
It breaks down the food even more.
The food goes through the esophagus before it gets to the stomach.
Pancreas
It does two functions.
They are the endocrine and exocrine functions.
Large Intestine
It is the bigger intestine.
It absorbs water and electrolytes.
Small Intestine
It finishes the digestion of food.
It gathers the nutrients from the food.
Rectum
It continues from the sigmoid colon.
It then continues through the anal canal.
