S.R. 347 NATURAL GAS FACILITIES RELOCATION
Separate sealed Bids for the replacement of a 10-inch steel natural gas main, a 6-inch steel natural gas main, a 4-inch polyethylene natural gas main, and other related gas facilities located along S.R. 347, from Interstate 985 to McEver Road. Bids will be received by the City of Buford at City Hall located at 2300 Buford Highway, Buford, un- til 10:00 local time, March 1, 2012, and then opened at said office and read aloud.
The project generally in- cludes the installation of 1,500 linear feet of 10-inch steel natural gas main, 1,300 linear feet of 6-inch steel nat- ural gas main, 2,100 linear feet of 4-inch polyethylene natural gas main, natural gas services, line valves and oth- er appurtenances. Proposals will also include an Alternate Bid for installation of 8-inch steel natural gas main and other appurtenances.
The new facilities will replace existing facilities that are in conflict with the Georgia Department of Transportation project for the proposed widening and reconstruction of S.R. 347 from I-985 to McEver Road, Federal Aid Project No. STP00-2688-00(004), P.I. No. 170735.
No proposal will be consid- ered unless it is accompanied by satisfactory evidence that the Bidder holds Georgia State Contractor’s License of proper classification and in full force and effect, in com- pliance with Act. O.C.G.A. 4314. Contractor must be a qualified natural gas con- tractor under the laws of the State of Georgia, must comply with any Federal, State, and City guidelines and regulations.

ER) is requesting bids to be submitted for the ADacula Maintenance Facility Phase I- Site work and Road Im- provements” located at the northwest end of West Drowning Creek Road north of Hwy. 316. @ This Project is located within the City Limits of Dacula, Georgia, more particularly described as follows:
The Scope of Work in- cludes, but is not limited to the furnishing of all labor, materials, and services nec- essary for the site grading, detention pond grading, septic system installation, fence, gate installation, storm sewer, utility installation, landscape items, temporary and permanent grassing, and erosion control. A Georgia DOT concrete apron will be installed at the entrance to the gravel drive. A gravel driveway will be constructed from the Georgia DOT apron to the building location with geo-textile fabric and 8 in. of gravel. The driveway section across the Colonial Pipeline easement will be paved ac- cording to the plans. There will be a paved section which

crosses the Colonial Pipeline Easement. All Colonial Pipe- line guidelines shall be fol- lowed when working within the easement. Colonial Pipe- line personnel must be pres- ent before any work within the easement is allowed. Also included in the scope of the project are improvements to West Drowning Creek Road from where the City has pre- viously repaired the Road to past the entrance to the site (approximately 1,063 ±l.f.).
Traffic safety devices such as signage, barricades, etc., and the protection of the public-at-large, and Contractor=s personnel is part of this Contract and the Contractor=s sole responsi- bility. Contractor must main- tain one lane open at all times and provide access to all driveways and intersections. This description of the scope of work does not identify all items of work, Contractor shall reference the attached Construction Drawings and Specifications for a complete Scope of Work when bidding the project.
Bidders may obtain copies of Construction Documents and specifications from Mc- Farland-Dyer and Associates, Inc. 770-932-6550. Plans may be provided in electronic format or made available on the FTP website at no charge. If the bidders require a hard copy of the construction doc- uments and specifications there will be a $100.00/ per set (non refundable) charge for the plans.
There will be a Pre-Bid Conference at Dacula City Hall, 442 Harbins Road, Dacula, GA. 30019 at 2:00 PM local time on February 2/21/2012. All bidders are strongly encouraged to at- tend this conference. Bidders should review the documents carefully and no later than 5:00 PM local time on Feb- ruary 24th, 2012, address all questions, interpretations and requests for information to McFarland-Dyer & Associ- ates, Inc. attention: Kevin D. Sealed bids for this project will be accepted until 2:00 p.m. local time, March 6, 2012, and read aloud at 2:00 PM at the Dacula City Hall located at 442 Harbins Road in Dacula, Georgia. Any Bids received after the above time is called will not be accepted. Following evaluation, the City will award the Contract to the lowest, responsive, respon- sible Bidder. If awarded, the Contract will be on a lump sum, fixed price basis. The bid may not be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days after date of opening. Bids must be accompanied by a bid bond payable to the City of Dacula in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the Bid. Performance Bond, Pay- ment Bond, each in amount equal to 100% of the Con- tract Sum, will be required of the successful bidder. These bonds are to be executed by a Surety Company licensed to do business in the State of Georgia, be listed on “Depart- ment of the Treasury Circular 570”. Time is of the essence to the Contract performance. The Scope of Work shall be substantially complete within one hundred twenty (120) consecutive calendar days from the date of the Notice to Proceed.
Any bidder may be re- quired, at the discretion of the Owner, to furnish evidence satisfactory to the Owner that his proposed subcontrac- tors have sufficient means and experience in the types of work called for to assure completion of the Contract in a satisfactory manner.
