A pretty girl, a handsome youth, objecting patents, an obliging Judge, 0 were the dramatis personae of a little 4 comedy of lite which was played to -an admiring if limited audience yes. 4 terday. Some time ago Sidney E. Moore, the scion of one of the city's oldest and most aristocratic families, was 2 introduced to Miss Pearl Marsh, I 3 petile and winsome debutaute of the Sixth Diatri,'t. The exquisite temini ty of the girl appealed to the man. 5 The devotion and gallantry of the 9 man was trresistible to the maiden. But, alas!l their elysiam was ruthle s'y 2 interfered with by "h artlee p::rents." SThey said ,.you are both too you•g, wait a while longer." andi they gave other advice, "which was brutal." 2 But the lovers had plighted their 2 troth, like true lovers; anda, as true lovers have done time out of mind, 2 they saw each other often, and the of.entr they saw each other the mole 8 enamered they were, and the mo e - enamored they became, the more they 0 saw each other. 4 Judge Thomas Maher of the Seec ond City Court is not an exception to that vast majority that believe 2 that a! the worti loves a lover." s and when the sweetbeartq came to - him yesterday and told him the same t old story, but the story that to them was new, he was kind, and they were marrimed. Mr. Moore occupies a prominent and lucrative position with a well known mercantile house. He is a nephew of Judge I, D. Moore of the Court of Appeals. Miss Marsh's family is also well known in social and commerciol cir f cles.-Thursday T. D. It will be remembered that Sidney was a frequent visitor to our city hay ing relatives in this town and parish and has many friends as well as his relatives here, will wish him unbound ed happiness upon this important o. casion. Moss Ginnery. The Thibodaux Progressive League held a called meeting on Wednesday morning at ten o'clock for the pur- pose of discussing the pro)eet of establishing a moss ginnery in this town, andl also to hear i hat Mr. S A. Gould, the inventor of moss gins, and now a resident of the Parish or loerville, had to say upon the sun ject. Mr. Gould is, as above stated, tl'e inventor of the moss gin, and has built many gins in this state which' are being suc tessfully operated. His thorough knowledge of the process of manufacturing the most from its raw state into the finished article, enabled him to speak intelligently as we'l as ibterestiugly about the moss industry. Mr. Gould exi lained to the satis- faction of the members of the league, the process of the manuf:,cture of the moss from its raw state into the article that is so extensively used in i upholstery work of a;l kiuds. He also stated what the co~t of a plant would be; what the cost of the riwt material would be; the cost of finish- ing this raw material intulo a marketa. ble article. In doing this he showed how large a profit would be realized by the manufacturers. The member of the league were so impressed with the benefits which would be derivedl by the citizens of this town in the establishment of a moesginnery here, that they decided to take immediate steps towards organiaing a stock company for that pursose. and itI seems tb be ao asnared fact that, within the next few weeks another factory whistle will add its voice to I those which are now asinging songs of praise peace and plenty to thosen enterprising citizens of Thibodaou who have already shown their faith t in manufatoriang enterpise. I The members of the Progressive t League realize that we have been too I long the producers simply of the raw material. and that the wealth that a should have remained at our doors a uas been drifting away. It is to stop these leaks and to convert what nature has so bountifully given into finished products fit for maas use that they have determined to build a meoss gin. Mr. T. Gordon Reakly, Jr.. of , Bowie, was in town last Tuesday. e Love Me Now. Br L c. N. 1 Moore-Marsh.

A pretty girl, a handsome youth, objecting patents, an obliging Judge,0 were the dramatis personae of a little4 comedy of lite which was played to

-an admiring if limited audience yes.4 terday.

Some time ago Sidney E. Moore, the scion of one of the city's oldestand most aristocratic families, was

2 introduced to Miss Pearl Marsh, I3 petile and winsome debutaute of the

Sixth Diatri,'t. The exquisite teminity of the girl appealed to the man.

5 The devotion and gallantry of the9 man was trresistible to the maiden.

But, alas!l their elysiam was ruthle s'y2 interfered with by "h artlee p::rents."SThey said ,.you are both too you•g,

wait a while longer." andi they gaveother advice, "which was brutal."

2 But the lovers had plighted their2 troth, like true lovers; anda, as true

lovers have done time out of mind,2 they saw each other often, and theof.entr they saw each other the mole8 enamered they were, and the mo e-enamored they became, the more they0 saw each other.

4 Judge Thomas Maher of the Seec

ond City Court is not an exceptionto that vast majority that believe2 that a! the worti loves a lover."s and when the sweetbeartq came to

-him yesterday and told him the samet old story, but the story that to themwas new, he was kind, and they weremarrimed.

Mr. Moore occupies a prominentand lucrative position with a wellknown mercantile house. He is anephew of Judge I, D. Moore of theCourt of Appeals.

Miss Marsh's family is also wellknown in social and commerciol cirf cles.-Thursday T. D.

It will be remembered that Sidneywas a frequent visitor to our city haying relatives in this town and parishand has many friends as well as hisrelatives here, will wish him unbounded happiness upon this important o.casion.

Moss Ginnery.

The Thibodaux Progressive Leagueheld a called meeting on Wednesdaymorning at ten o'clock for the pur-pose of discussing the pro)eet ofestablishing a moss ginnery in thistown, andl also to hear i hat Mr. SA. Gould, the inventor of moss gins, and now a resident of the Parish orloerville, had to say upon the sunject. Mr. Gould is, as above stated,tl'e inventor of the moss gin, and hasbuilt many gins in this state which'are being suc tessfully operated. Histhorough knowledge of the processof manufacturing the most from itsraw state into the finished article, enabled him to speak intelligently aswe'l as ibterestiugly about the mossindustry.

Mr. Gould exi lained to the satis-faction of the members of the league, the process of the manuf:,cture of themoss from its raw state into thearticle that is so extensively used in i

upholstery work of a;l kiuds. Healso stated what the co~t of a plantwould be; what the cost of the riwtmaterial would be; the cost of finish-ing this raw material intulo a marketa.ble article. In doing this he showedhow large a profit would be realizedby the manufacturers. The memberof the league were so impressed withthe benefits which would be derivedlby the citizens of this town in theestablishment of a moesginnery here, that they decided to take immediatesteps towards organiaing a stockcompany for that pursose. and itIseems tb be ao asnared fact that, within the next few weeks anotherfactory whistle will add its voice to Ithose which are now asinging songs ofpraise peace and plenty to thosenenterprising citizens of Thibodaouwho have already shown their faith tin manufatoriang enterpise. I

The members of the Progressive tLeague realize that we have been too Ilong the producers simply of the rawmaterial. and that the wealth that ashould have remained at our doors auas been drifting away. It is to stopthese leaks and to convert what naturehas so bountifully given into finishedproducts fit for maas use that theyhave determined to build a meoss gin.

Mr. T. Gordon Reakly, Jr.. of ,Bowie, was in town last Tuesday.

e Love Me Now.

Br L c. N.

If you're ever going to love me,ir Love me now while I can know

e All the sweet and tender feelings," Which from real affections flow.

Love me now while I am living.Do not wait till I am gone,And then chisel it in marb'eWarm love.words on icecold stone

If you've dear, sweet thoughts abouti, me,3, Why not whisper them to met?

e Don't you know 'twould make meo happy,[. And as glad, as glad can be?If you wait till I am sleeping,N, Ne'er to waken here again,it There'll be walls of earth between us,s And I couldn't hear you then.

Ite If you knew some one was thirstiug

For a drop of water sweet,Would you be so slow to bring it?e Would you step with laggard feet?,. There are tender hearts all 'round usr Who are thirsting for our love;Shall we begrudge to them what heav-

enHas kindly sent us from above?

I won't need your kind caressese When the grass grows o'er my face;

I won't crave your love or kissesIn my last low resting place.s So, if you do love me any-

If it's but a little bit,I'd rather know it now, while ICan, livilpwn and treasure it.
