The Construction Specifications Institute – Nashville Chapter Board of Directors Meeting Meeting Date: January 16, 2019 Present: Michael Gober, Lynn Jolley, Dan Cress, Harry Harris, Jim Christian, Jill Colby, Doug Johns, Derek Hickman, Jarrod Finger, Jerry Curtis, Beth Hargis, Kevin Russell, Tom Parshall Call To Order Michael Gober called the meeting to order and distributed the agenda. Initial Discussion 1. November’s Board Meeting Minutes A. The minutes were approved with a motion made by Michael Gober, seconded by Doug Johns, and consensus by the board. 2. StarChapter – Jill Colby A. March 2019 is the likely start up time for Star Chapter as there is an approximate two month time period to get the service implemented. 3. 2019-2020 Director Changes A. Michael strongly recommended that the board retain Kevin Russell, Jill Colby, and Jarrod Finger in some capacity. B. Replacements need to be found for Jarrod and Jill. C. Jarrod will develop a list of potential replacements for his position. 4. 2019 Products Show – Future Venue A. Tiffany and Jill have looked at Trevecca Nazarene University. i. It offers a good and economical venue. ii. Tiffany and Melanie will look into this location further. B. Tiffany and Melanie have also contacted Belmont University but have not heard anything back. 5. AIA/CES A. CEU credits are still covered for CSI as far as we know. 6. Professional Organizations – CSI Relationship/Program Opportunities A. Jim Christian mentioned that the newly-formed RCI (Roof Consultants Institute) Mid-South chapter will be conducting seminars; Jim invited their board members to attend today’s chapter meeting but they were unable to come. B. IRE (International Roofing Exposition) will be held February 11-13 at Music City Center. Committee Reports Awards: Michael Gober reporting for Troy Williams: 1. More work needs to done for the upcoming year’s Outstanding Chapter Commendation Award. 2. Specifacts, Specheads, Jump Start, and articles from product representatives are key topics to promote. Education: Michael reporting for Ray St. Germain 1. Ray continues to work on CEU accreditations. Certification: Lynn Jolley and Carl Manka 1. This year’s first class will be held January 17 at 5:00 pm. 2. Lynn and/or Carl will promote at today’s chapter meeting. 3. Current sign up count is twenty and Lynn thinks there will be more that attend. Membership: Jill Colby & Tiffany Goulet 1. Current membership count is 117. 2. Three new members have joined. 1. 2019 is booked, with October’s program needing to be confirmed; Kevin Russell can present if needed. 2. There are some programs already scheduled for 2020.

Programs: Beth Hargis & Jarrod Finger reporting

1. Jill encouraged the board continue to work together to schedule programs. 2. Programs are booked through May. 3. Jarrod may have a potential presenter he can schedule for August; he will look into further. 4. Beth Hargis suggested the new soccer stadium in Nashville and the Landings at River North development

(Hastings Architecture) as potential presentations. 5. Lynn will contact Harold Thompson regarding a program on National Museum of African American Music.

Planning: Tom Parshall

1. Current schedule has been distributed. 2. Tom will update SpecHeads location. 3. Any other feedback is welcomed.

Social Media: Michael Gober reporting

1. This position needs to be filled as Tyrone Bunyon is no longer a CSI member. 2. Jarrod will email Tyrone to follow up on his membership/board position status.
