MAJOR AREAS OF CONCERN : 1. POPULATION :

Since independence there had been a huge refugee influx adding to the population

Explosion in the city and that is

why our city is overcrowded.

2. POVERTY: Over crowding of the city has lead to poverty and increase in slums There are beggars out in the streets.

3. UNEMPLOYMENT: Due to increase in

population there is rise in the number of

employments which in turn has increased

the rate of crimes

4. DAMAGING THE ECOSYSTEM :

The developers are poaching big trees,

filling up the ponds to build up mansions without having any sense that they are destroying the eco

system.

5. TRANSPORATATION PROBLEMS: People have to

jostle with the overcrowded buses and other public

transportations.

6. POWER FAILURES :There are issues of power

shortages and failures.

7. POLLUTION: The smoke generated for the vehicles, factories and slums with inadequate sewerage system has made the environment polluted.

8. UNCLEAN AND BROKEN ROADS : The streets are unclean and broken. The effort of municipality is not adequate to keep the city clean unless there is sufficient awareness among the inhabitants.

9. TRAFFIC CONTROL FAILUREPeople are least bothered to cross the streets through Zebra crossings, they try to cross the street from anywhere, increasing the number of accidents in the road. `The traffic control is not proper which has lead in to congestion of

roads.

Initiatives to be taken by the government to control population at any cost.

Awareness campaigns for the citizens of the city about how to keep the city clean and free from pollution.

To plan and implement a solid infrastructure.The industries should be far away from the city.

Well built and well maintained roads with fantastic flyovers.Planned sewerage system so that neither air nor the water is

polluted.Safe and hygenic drinking water.

To generate green Eco-parks for the city dwellers for enough fresh air.

Provision of proper educational facilities.
