Volleyball Pink Out
The Rolette Student Council and the Rolette High School’s
Desktop Publishing Class led a PINK OUT this October. The
goal of the PINK OUT is to raise awareness for breast cancer
and to educate young women about the disease. The PINK
OUT is also a significant fundraiser to help support this effort.
PINK T-shirts and other PINK items were sold to raise mon-
ey. A total of $380.00 was raised and will be donated to the
American Cancer Society. Everyone wore PINK to the volley-
ball game on October 14 to show their support for this cause.
Thank you to all who donated and wore PINK. We hope to
exceed these fund raising efforts next year.

21st CENTURY COMMUNITY LEARNING CENTERS
October 23, 2014
Wow! It is hard to believe that the first quarter of school is almost done. Where does the time go?
Art after School in November is for grades 3 and 5 and will be held on November 6,13, and 20 from
3:30 to 4:30 pm in the FCS room.
A new program, 21st Century Elementary Agriculture, is for first graders in November and the topics
will be “Parts of a Plant” and “What’s it made from? Byproducts”. Elementary Agriculture will be
held on November 5 and November 19 from 3:30 to 4:30 in the Ag Ed room. Elementary Agriculture is
staffed by the FFA officers and Mrs. Clemens. The Rolette FFA received a $340 Ag in the Classroom
Grant to buy supplies for these bimonthly ag-ed nights to teach elementary students about agriculture.
Way to go Mrs. Clemens!
Remember that the Elementary Homework Room is open from 7:30 am to 8:15 am every day that
school is in session. Any elementary student who comes to the school during that time period will be in
the Library and supervised. Ms. Kitzman provides homework help for K-6 and a safe place for your
child to be.
The High School Homework Room is open from 8:00 to 8:30 am in the High School Computer Lab.
Mrs. Acra is there Monday, Wednesday, and Friday to give Math help and I am there on Tuesday and
Thursday so students can get help with English. Students can also come in and use the computers to get
homework completed.
After School Tutoring runs from 3:30 to 6:00 pm on Monday through Thursday for grades K-12, so
students have many opportunities to get homework help.

From our Shelves- 2014 The State of North Dakota provides a wonderful State Library for all of the citizens of North
Dakota. Through the State Library, you are able to access online databases, obtain a State Li-
brary card, and Interlibrary loan books. You can visit the website for the North Dakota State
Library at http://www.library.nd.gov/. Here you can search the State Library’s catalog for
many different books that are found all across the state.
Interlibrary loan is a service that will provide you with a particular library book. They will
search the state for a copy and arrange to have that book mailed right to your own house. There
will be a due date provided for when the book is due back at the State Library. The only cost
for the Interlibrary loan service is the cost of shipping the book back to the State Library. In
order to get access to the Interlibrary Loan service, all you need is a State Library card. State
Library cards are provided free to the citizens of North Dakota. You can access the form at
http://www.library.nd.gov/libcardapp.html. There is a separate form for children/students under
the age of 18. You can access that form at http://www.library.nd.gov/publications/
juvlibcardapp.pdf. Students will need a guardian’s signature if they are under the age of 18.
With this library card, you can interlibrary loan books and materials.
If you have any questions, please call the library!
