On-Line/Distance Education -Summer/Winterim Priority Classes
(CE, Eric Simkins, Julie Hellweg, Tom Gospodarcyk)
• We need each academic department to be thinking about and decide on a set of courses which can be offered on-line, summer or winterim, and which can serve to alleviate bottlenecks, recruit new students, or assist students in completing the GEP.
• I charge each academic department with having this discussion and sending me a priority list of courses and rationale…”none” is not an option…will enlist the help of Eric Simkins

Dean’s 2016 “Reads”
An engine needs both gas and oil……the engine runs on gas, but lives on oil.
Uncle Mike Cirmo
A great university needs both students and staff……the university runs on students, but lives on staff.
We add gas often, sometimes changing brands and grades…we change the oil periodically to save wear and keep our engine running
We hire a mechanic to give us advice, best practices, and sometimes tell us “you need to check your transmission, some slippage is occurring”
