Updates on the 4-H Dog Care and Training Project Activities Most significant is the 2014 Texas 4-H Dog Show Catalog is now posted on-line at http://texas4-h.tamu.edu/dogshow it outlines the rules for the 2014 show. Please take note of some significant changes. - The 2014 show will be held in Belton, Texas at the Bell County Expo July 11-13, 2014.

- New exhibition class Treibball has been added. Treibball is also known as urban herding where dogs “herd” exercise balls to a goal using basic herding techniques.

We have also added a new Foster/Family Dog Program to encourage fostering dogs. These dogs

do not have to meet the six month ownership requirement and will be eligible for Canine Good Citizenship, Costume, Tricks, Obedience and Rally.

4Dog Project Clinics - There are no clinics currently scheduled, but we will let you know if we hear of anything in the works. Also please let me know if you are planning or want to plan a clinic. AKC Opportunity - AKC has offered 4-H members free registration for Canine Partners and Pure-bred Alternative Listing for their dogs. This offers another opportunity to show and work toward titles for dogs that are not otherwise able to be registered. The letter with the details is from Savannah Martin a 4-H member and AKC Junior Handler working to coordinate resources between the two organizations. See the details and forms on the State 4-H Dog Show web page. 2014 Judge Recruitment - Any 4-H member, project leader, or parent may recruit and nominate judges for the 2014 Texas 4-H Dog Show. The recruitment packet is posted to the show website previously listed. Pet Expo Houston - April 12, 2014 The Texas 4-H Dog Project will have a booth at the Pet Expo this year. This will be a great opportunity to market the 4-H Dog Project and help it grow.
