The Church Triumphant

1. The Church Begins a New Dispensation (Divine Time Period) beginning with the Baptism of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost

2. The Church is for Gentiles (not-Jews) and for Jews

3. The Greek word for Church (“Ecclesia”) means “assembly of Christians called out or called forth”, and gathered for worship – it is not a building even though we think of it as a building

4. The first church meeting was after Pentecost in Jerusalem

The “Mystery” of the Church1. Jesus is the Head of the Body of Christ. (Col.

1:18)2. Mystery of the church was hidden for

generations but is revealed to His saints (Col. 1:26) as commanded by Jesus Himself for His disciples and thereby for the church to follow

3. Christ in you is the hope of Glory(Col. 1:27)

4. Commanded to love each other (1 Cor. 13)5. 1 Thess. 3:12 - “And the Lord make you to

increase and abound in love one toward another, and toward all people, even as we do toward you.

6. The church is the bride of Christ to be presented at the marriage supper of the Lamb at the end of the Last Days(Rev. 19:9)

Churches in the Bible

1. The first Church was established in Jerusalem – and they added to the church daily. (Acts 2:47)

2. Next church was Antioch (Acts 11:26)3. Next church was Caeseria (Acts 18:22)4. Paul wrote letters to various churches he

started as a missionary in Rome, Corinth, Galatia, Ephesus, Philippi, Colossi, Galatia in Asia Minor

5. The seven churches in Revelation are all based in what is modern Turkey(Rev. 1-3)

Holy Spirit and the Church

1. The Holy Spirit gives spiritual gifts to the Church

2. The Holy Spirit empowers the church3. Five Offices of the Church –

Pastor/Teacher, Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist

4. The Body of Christ has many parts but everyone has a unique purpose in the church

5. All churches who believe in Christ are part of the Body of Christ

Church Structure

1. The Pastor/Teacher is the Leader of the Church and is the Shepherd of the Sheep and must answer to Jesus Christ for his/her sheep/people.

2. The next highest leaders are Elders of the church, who pray for people

3. Other titles of people in the church includes bishops, apostles and prophets

The Church Triumphant

1. Jesus was speaking with Peter (Matt. 16:18)

2. Jesus said to Peter that he is Petros (rock, pebble, ledge, or cliff, indicating a soul hard and unyielding)

3. Jesus said that upon this Rock (petra - Himself ) He will build His church

4. Rock (petra) means rock, crag, or a large stone; a massive living rock

5. The gates of hell cannot prevail against the church led by Jesus Christ!

The Church Triumphant

1. We keep living like we have been defeated!

2. Because of Christ we are more than Conquerors and have won the victory in advance!

3. It is time for the Bride of Christ to stand up and act like hell cannot prevail against us!
