SUMMER MASS SCHEDULE at Most Blessed Sacrament:

Our Schedule for the Months of JULY and AUGUST:

    Saturday: 5:30 pm Sunday: 8:00 am, 10:00 am & 12:00 Noon

MUCH-NEEDED PRAYER Each Christian needs half an hour of prayer each day, except when we are busy; then we need an hour. —St. Francis de Sales

2018 Sharing God’s Blessings Annual Appeal

Thank you to all of those who have helped Most Blessed Sacrament reach our 2018 Sharing

God’s Blessings Annual Appeal goal of $95,837.00.

We have received $102,995.00 in pledges from 257 families and have achieved approximately

    107.47% of our goal.

Most Blessed Sacrament will receive 62% of all funds received over our goal. To date, we have collected $83,262.00. Please be sure to honor your pledges.

If you have yet to give, please pick up a pledge

form in the vestibule of the church or visit www.rcan.org/sharing.

Thank you for your prayers and support. Your generosity is greatly appreciated!

    Sixteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time

July 22, 2018 Behold, the days are coming, says the LORD, when I will

raise up a righteous shoot to David. — Jeremiah 23:5a

“…come away by yourselves to a lonely place and rest awhile.” (Mark 6:31)

Do you spend time, every day, alone and in silence listen-ing to how God is calling you? If not, you are missing out on a wonderful opportunity to develop a more per-sonal relationship with Him. Unless we talk and more importantly, listen to God every day, how else will we know how He is calling us? Consider making a retreat this year, spend some “alone” time with God.

    A Note from Father John

As part of our participation in the Archdiocese of Newark's Missionary Cooperation Appeal, we will welcome next weekend Father Andres Malawis, SSS. Father is a member of the Congregation of the Blessed Sacrament. Please read the insert in this week's bulletin explaining the origins of the Order. There will be a second collection next weekend in order to help the ministries of their Congregation. Please note that there are no envelopes for this collection per the directives of the Propagation of the Faith. Welcome, Father Andres Malawis!

Anniversary Mass Fr. Marc Crilly, O.S.B., who grew up in our parish and attended our school, welcomes you on Saturday August 4, at 10:30 a.m. to celebrate a Mass in our church to honor his 25th anniversary as a priest. The Mass will be said in Latin (in the ordinary form, the form in which most parishes, including our own, celebrate Mass) with a booklet available for everyone to follow. Fr. Marc hopes that you can join him at that time, as he thanks God for these past 25 years, and greet him and his family afterwards.

  • Summer Prayer Creator of all, thank You for summer! Thank

You for the warmth of the sun and the increased daylight. Thank You for the beauty I see all around me and for the opportunity

to be outside and enjoy Your creation. Thank You for the increased time I have to be with

my friends and family, and for the more casual pace of the summer season. Draw me closer to You this summer. Teach me how I

can pray no matter where I am or what I am doing. Warm my soul with the awareness of Your presence, and light my path with Your Word and Counsel. As I enjoy Your creation,

create in me a pure heart and a hunger and a thirst for You. Amen

    CCD Summer Program

We had an overwhelming positive response to our Summer CCD Program. Students and teachers made the experience a spiritual

and enjoyable evangelization. Students in Grades 1-8 prayed each day, completed lessons about their faith, enjoyed movies and religious based games, snack time and class time sharing their faith.

Fr. John did a teaching Mass over in the church with all the grades. It was a wonderful, informative lesson and prayerful time for the children. The Summer CCD Students will continue in the Spring with a Retreat and Special CCD Masses. Thank you for sharing your children with us!!!.

Thank you to all our teachers, aides and student volunteers. Our program could not run without you and your dedication. God bless all our families and have a peaceful and restful summer.

God Bless, Krista Pastor, Diane Triolo and Pat Wuensch

The RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) is a formation process for those seeking to become Catholic and for those Catholics wishing to complete their Sacraments of Initiation (Confirmation and First Eucharist). The

Most Blessed Sacrament RCIA begins a new formation year in October. Join with others who are interested in learning about Catholic Christianity as we explore who we are, what we believe, how we pray, and how we live our lives as a community of believers.

If you are interested in learning more about RCIA at Most Blessed Sacrament, contact Father John Job at 201-891-4200 x 280.

DOES YOUR JAM PACKED SUMMER CALENDAR HAVE A SPACE FOR THE TWO OF YOU TO BE ALONE? On a Marriage Encounter weekend married couples can get away from jobs, kids, chores, and phones for 44 hours—and focus only on each other. If you’d like greater depth, growth, and enrichment in your relationship, you’ll like the difference a Worldwide Marriage Encounter weekend can make! For more information contact Janet and Mike Turco 973-427-7016 or 609-335-6880 or email [email protected] or go to nnjwwme.org.

Military families, are you getting ready to deploy? Is your family trying to reconnect after deployment? Marriage Encounter offers tools of communication that have kept many military marriages strong and happy throughout the ups and downs of military service. Contact your local chaplain or contact Janet and Mike Turco 973-427-7016 or 609-335-6880 or email [email protected] or go to nnjwwme.org. for more information.

Are You Going On Vacation? Many of our parish families are planning to get away for some summer fun and relaxation in the next few months. We pray that your vacation time will be safe and a source of many happy memories. However, please do not take your parish offering with you. Each summer our parish office struggles to juggle the bills as Sunday offerings decrease significantly. If you find that you tend to forget your envelope more often during the less structured weeks of summer, please consider our electronic giving program. Go to www.faithdirect.net or call 866-507-8757. It’s simple! It’s safe! And it keeps God at the top of your giving list even when you are away!
